Insane. Rarely have I ever seen a peaceful one in a community tank. This cichlid has no fear of other fish. Regardless of size. I’m gonna get a baby one in my 4 footer which should do him fur a while. Great video.

Ours was pretty aggressive too. Ruined everything in the tank. But lived playing with a ball...lol

How long did it take your red devil to become that aggressive? Was he like that as a baby or did the aggression start when he reached adulthood? I have a juvenile RD that’s extremely skittish and shy. Runs from everything.

definitely a red devil and not a midas, very nice

Thought of getting rid of my Africans and adding a large fish like Red Devils to my tank. Think my 9 inch clown loaches (group of 3) will do ok with a 9 and 12 inch red devil?? I also can get my hands on a large dovii or flowerhorn not all of em but my choice to add to the 125.
@Skylabz6046 жыл бұрын
Nope...nothing will do ok with Red devils... Even Oscars won't make it sometimes.. I speak from experience.
@gregoryanderson23065 жыл бұрын
Try trimaculatus, chancho cichlids, managuense, arrow cichlids all but the managuense are in the same genus as the red devil and have the size and temperament to co exist with a red devil

too much for a 125

Had one of these long ago, looked just like yours, took over a whole 50 gallon tank, meanest fish ever, the pitbull of the cichlid world. lol If you really want to see the males go ape shit put a mirror up to the tank.
@chrisroundscichlids39297 жыл бұрын
Billdo O'Reilly ya i used to do that but he splits his lip open on the glass so i stopped
@666Musik7 жыл бұрын
Dang, never had anything like that happen but maybe it's not such a good idea! They're awesome fish, them and Oscars are like having a pet dog in a tank. Cheers!

@chrisroundscichlids39292 жыл бұрын
A buddy of mine has him now about an hour from me. Hes a good 15 inch and super thick. He ruined a 150g and a 125g of mine by non stop peeling off the silicone in the corner of the tank when bored so to avoid another disaster i thought it was best. My friend has already went through both a 150 and a 125g as well with him within the last year and multiple tank lights. He has to keep his tank about a foot below the waterlevel if he wants to keep his lights 🤣
@Buttikoferiii2 жыл бұрын
@@chrisroundscichlids3929 Jesus 15 inches of pure fury lmao And here I thought my 12 inch female Butti was mean asf🤣 Good to know that he’s still doing well man. One of the best Red Devils I’ve ever seen.
