2 жыл бұрынScottie woke up from his mid-day nap and surprised us all with a burning hot temperature. He was fine and active all morning, and suddenly had dropped spirits, no appetite and no energy. Of course I was worried! We did the works- CBC, Dengue Antigen Test, Swab test all came back negative. His pediatrician and Slater's cousin, Dr. Michelle Yu advised us to get a Biofire Swab test, which would not only test for Covid, but for other viral infections as well. So off we went to the hospital for a drive through swab. The results were... unfortunate. :( Scottie has covid! He was the only one among all of us who tested positive. I'm guessing because he's the only one among us that's unvaccinated. It was soooo painful to watch him be so tired and weak. :( Hope you guys can pray for my little guy.

I guess I was so overcome with emotion from seeing Scott sick, and seeing him in pain but that did not grant me the right to post about it on my vlog. I have to be more sensitive when it comes to what I post on my platform. Sometimes I really do not realize the power of my words, but I will surely take this as a step in the right direction. If you are reading this, I want to offer my heartfelt apology to the entire MT community, and especially “ate MT” for everything.

Hi Skyfam, I deleted a segment from the vlog where I was ranting about Scottie’s blood extraction experience. I know as parents, it’s heart breaking to see our children get sick, cry, and be unable to express their pain. What I didn’t realize is that my emotional rant as a mom actually hurt not only the MT assigned to us, but the entire MT community as well. No MT goes to a blood extraction with the intention of hurting you/your child. I saw a video recently where this was explained to me point by point and why the things that happened had to happen. I realize now that “ate MT” was doing her best for the sake of Scott, and it takes a lot to have a child as your patient. I should have been more understanding. Hi Mommy Kryz, your frustration is valid. Ang hirap tiisin makita masaktan ang babies natin. Hindi naman gugustuhin ng moms yun pero I think the MTs, ginusto nila yung job na yun and we always hope that they really do well. You have the right not to be satisfied with their service. We saw you at your realest and it's okay. Your feelings are valid. But we salute you for taking the rant down soon and for this apology

Taking blood samples from toddlers are always an ordeal. Sometimes it even takes more than 2 people to hold them down. Children can be really strong sometimes. Plus, children's veins are smaller compared to an Adult's. This is the reason why it is more difficult to take blood from them. I wish many people are aware of this.

@@kumpustaz I am a medical doctor in training, and the RMTs (and everyone else) pressed at this video should calm down. She didn’t disclose the name or the company, and who are you to dictate ba kung ano dapat yung laman ng vlog niya! She can rant or publicize anything she wants. People are allowed to be dissatisfied with our services, in any field, even medical. Why are you coming after her being rich, like that has anything to do with it? Kayo nga puro reklamo. She has every right to comment, she paid for the service.

On behalf of the BMLS/MT Community I hope that the MT involved in this incident would still keep his/her chin up high and recover from the mishap, even if damage has been done. As a Medtech and a mom now. Makasapot sd jud ang medtech nga di prepared. Pero wala mn sd ta kibaw sa side sa medtech, basin sd diay sila sd ang type nga SO's nga "precaution" pd. LOL hahaha Mao ganahan sd ko maka hibaw sa side sa medtech kung naunsa. Pero lisod sd jud na kwaan ang babies, esp if ang SO mas magbuot nimo, samot jud ka lisod magkuha. Hehe and dapat na puston sa habol ang babies ana nga age ky kusgan kaayo na. Hehe 😊 and mo hilak jd na ang babies pag ayo, dili malikayan 😔 PS: and bisan pa ug 3 or 4 adults ng gunit sa bata, toddler. Ma twist gihapon na nila ilang arm, bisan gigunitan nag maayo. Mao tricky and lisod jd na mukuha ug toddler. Mas sayon pa siguro sa newborn. Bisaya ky kapoy english. Lol

Kryz it really is difficult to extract blood. But if she lost her temper at you, you can address that after the procedure. Also she must have been under a lot of stress. And yes good job for not loosing ur temper because had you asked for a different med- tech, the blood sample for analysis would have been delayed which is crucial because time is of the essence to manage his condition.

Your feelings are valid but it's unfair to the other person to broadcast this issue with people only hearing your side of the story. Things like that should be settled privately and discussed in private. It's normal for moms to be super worried; it's normal for moms to discuss with their family and friends their frustrations about things like that. But you should also remember that youre an influencer and some things are better settled and discussed in private.

@@sophiealvez7438 i saw a lot of people in the comments siding with her and making assumptions that the medtech wasnt prepared and all when obviously whats shown in a vlog are only snippets of the entire scenario. I feel bad for those in the medical field. There are so many things that come in to play in situations like this, not just their expertise and years of experience. Incompetent or not, I don't think a vlog with such a wide reach is the proper avenue to rant about HCWs.

I just really thought that her broadcasting her rants about the medtech one-sidedly to millions of people was so unfair. I mean, come on, moms are of course going to freak out in those situations but she's not just a mom, she's an influencer too. Honestly shouldve known about her impact better :(

Im a medtech Kryz and I have a daughter and all I can say is I understand where the frustrations came from🤣 pero cguro dependi sad kay mao man gud ako work magkuha dugo asta sa bata so when it was my daughter’s time na kuhaan dugo, I knew already na nice iyang veins but I was also prepared na pwede sad di sila makakuha dugo dayon.🤣 tip, use EMLA next time,put it sa both arms 45minutes before kay mura man gud nag anesthesia,wala jud mafeel ang bata ig tusok na.:) pra di sad traumatizing sa bata😍 and di jud lalim mukuha ug dugo ug bata di lang natu pun.an ang pressure sa medtech kay sure ko knowing nga famous pud baya mo sa atua so for sure factor nato daan na napressure na☹️ anyway get well soon to your son and remember Bloodtaking gani, never forget EMLA.:)

If you’re using antigen kits, it’s highly likely you have been getting false negative results. RT PCR is still the best to get especially you are not exhibiting symptoms. Antigen kits are best used for people with symptoms already.

Hi Ms. Kryz, I had a few friends who went through a similar situation, their kids suddenly got a fever and one or two other kids showed some symptoms like sore throat, head aches, etc. They did self swabbing at home and it all turned out negative thrice. But the kids' fevers persisted so they had to get them tested outside and later decided to test themselves as well to be sure (parents and yaya) . Some of my friends opted to do the swab test, others did the saliva test. (red cross saliva test I believe it's only 1,500) then turns out they were all positive. It's just since the adults had the vaccine, they had stronger resistance and were asymptomatic. They asked why the antigen tests were always returning negative, they were advised that it could be they were not taking the samples the right way, or the tests themselves were not that efficient since there is a higher chance of false negatives on antigen tests. Anyway, some of my friends found the saliva test easier for the kids since there's no poking or prodding involved. Not sure if it's available in Cebu but maybe if you need to get scott tested again you can give that a try para di siya kawawa for the test. I agree. I was tested negative to antigen but positive for RTPCR or vice versa. Better test for the RTPCR then. If it is positive for Scottie, most probably one of the member of the household is also positive.

From my family who had Covid, the antigen tests showed negative on their first 3-4 days (when symptoms show). Then after that, on day 4 or 5, that’s only when the antigen shows positive. Unlike PCR which can detect positive even on the first day of symptoms.

I understand her frustrations as a mom but I also know how hard it is to extract blood from a toddler. Maybe Kryzz is just soooo tired and naawa narin kay Scott since sabi nya nga Scottie had a swab prior to having his blood extraction. Sguro nagka misunderstanding lang on both sides. Sguro in situations like this its very important na magkaintindihan ang HCW and the Public.

Ate Kryz, as a phlebotomist, your feelings are totally valid, I know how heartbreaking it is to watch your child go through such a traumatic experience. And it definitely does take a village to keep an active toddler like Scottie boo to stay still :’) Luckily she actually got the blood, and didn’t have to do it a fourth time. When Scottie got swabbed, it was also difficult, but you didn't say anything bad to the frontliners, so I know something worse must really happened for you to be angry like that. At least marunong siya magpa kumbaba, I understand her worries at anxiety as a mom at take note (hindi sa ginagawa kung dahilan.) pero she's pregnant pa iba ang emotions pag Juntis guys. and again at least nag sorry na siya if ever naka sakit sya ng feelings ng mga HCWs. so forgive na sa mga na hurt lives goes on at matuto tayo sa ating pag kakamali dyan tayo natututo sa buhay.

hi! first of all im sorry for what you guys are going through but I just loooooove how you twisted the narrative here girlie 💕💕why didn't you include the part where you and your husband screamed at the medtech for whatever your reasons were? pediatric extractions are no joke and normally we would have 5 people holding the kid just so our extraction would be "easy" and only your yaya was holding Scottie because your husband wanted to film which, by the way is not allowed due to data privacy reasons. instead of flaunting onto social media about your "experience", why didn't you just take it up to the management and complain to them instead of asking for sympathy from your followers like a mature adult would do? my goodness. please think about what you post because you are an "influencer" and what you say will always be fixed as THE narrative. You know spreading false rumors can get you sued, right? @@jenb5029 she got banned cause when Scottie got admitted wayback when he was younger (I think, he was only a year older that time) at that hospital, that certain medtech wasn’t able to extract blood the first try. So ayun, she’s saying na she’s gonna sue daw the MT and everything. But that hospital didn’t budge but they banned her instead. Haha We all know na she’s a protective mom and all but alam nyo naman that pediatric extraction is not eazy peazy lemon squeezy. There’s a lot of factors that come in to play. Wouldn’t it be amazing if we can get blood just by one shot only???

I had omicron last month and based on experience (from my family and close friends too) , a person can test negative after being exposed to COVID-19, it takes at least 3-5 days before it can show up as positive as it takes certain level of the virus to appear positive especially if through antigen only ( pcr is still much reliable ) I documented my whole covid-19 experience on this channel, if you're curious you can check it out, but rest assured symptoms for omicron are much milder and 1st-3rd day are the worst. take care Kryz and everyone else, stay safe :)

ah, i really understand the struggle of wanting to rant about the blood extraction situation ;-; it must have been very frustrating for a mom, but honestly i am quite terrified that this could cause a lot of problems. people are already debating in the comments and accusing you of twisting the story or having an “attitude problem.” i hope this doesn’t become bigger than it is! we can both acknowledge the frustration of a mother worried over her child and the difficulty for a health worker placed in an unexpected situation. kryz has said multiple times that she doesn’t get angry easily, or at all, and i think the situation must have warranted that reaction. sounds like a lot of incompetency + unsolicited advice too? i just hope there is a line we could draw between personal ranting and establishing a narrative that thousand of people will hear and believe. i hope this won’t cause further problems for both parties! i understand the frustration but it might be unfair for the medtech too.

Same experience, my baby got traumatised with her CBC experience. til now she’s uncooperative whenever we go to the hospital or even go to her pedia. She keeps on saying “no, no”.

So sad such thing happened to Scotty. Kryz your patience is admirable. We had a similar experience with my grandson , the moment i realized the attending doctor at that could not shoot the right vein, i told them to call an expert from the ER because usually ER med techs are experts at shooting the right vein. Next time around esp. where baby is concerned, don't be shy to tell them to hold their act together and not make the baby suffer unnecessarily. It is ok to show your disgust on occassions like that. Hope and pray Scoty recover asap. Take care there is a baby inside you.

I'm a Medtech student and I was trying to understand what happened. I gave the Medtech the benefit of the doubt but not being ready even with the cotton and tape after collecting is very unprofessional and wrong. That's one of the few must, do not leave the patient unattended and still bleeding.

Super shady and so unprofessional of her to go to a job that she’s not ready especially if a patient is a child. My gulay, when my son got sick & they need to do this to him, I was crying too. I’m glad ur all ok na. Sending you prayers and love. 🙏🏻❤️❤️❤️

It’s an understandable reaction. You are a mom. Maybe inform the lab manager of the incompetence of their staff. No child should go through such a traumatic situation again because of that lady.

Get well soon, Skyfam!! When my dad got COVID, our doctor advised us to keep eating fruits and vitamins too. That helped a lot so please always have a supply of fruits and vitamins! This too shall pass so stay strong, mama!

I’m a medical technologist and it has been drilled onto our brain, even at lower years of university, to always prepare the materials needed before even going into the actual process of phlebotomy. Omg that feels so wrong when she decided to used open system for Scottie. I’m a medtech student and we are taught to use butterfly method for kids. Also “fishing” the vein? omg kahit ako nga takot dun. Hello basic preparations before blood extraction!! Nakaka-inis, her Phlebotomy prof watching/knowing this . Tapos like you’re the one responsible to check your things na gagamitin for the patient before doing the procedure 🙄🥲.

Ako, I understand Kryz sa vlog na to. I don’t think she meant to shame someone or a profession. In this video, she was talking about the whole experience and not just the person doing the procedure. Hindi naman niya nilahat, and she didn’t even mention yung profession. I understand the frustration, especially when you’ve gone through the same procedure in the past tapos with the same company pa with 0 problems at all. As a mother, it’s really painful to watch your son or daughter go through all the discomfort, and yes I understand din na mahirap magturok sa kid, but as professionals, I think if someone went through proper training, they can handle it well naman. Not saying na walang magiging challenges at all, pero siguro not as stressful as how Kryz shares it in this vlog. I know because I’m a mom and my daughter had blood extraction na rin before and it didn’t go like how Kryz tells it here. She might have already raised this to the management, and ALSO shared the experience in this vlog, because after all, that’s what she was vlogging about din naman (in this particular video). She was stressed and I think ito yung naging outlet niya at that time pero I didn’t feel naman na yung intention niya is mamahiya ng tao. I think kalmado pa nga siya since she also mentioned na may mga comments pa na out of business na. 🥲 If ibang tao pa yun, baka nasabihan na ng mas masakit especially if out of business na yung mga advice. During my grade 12 (shs), we had a work immersion subject where I was a biomed student, and we discussed how to draw blood properly (phlebotomy). One of the tasks we should do is prepare everything we need, before to draw a blood, and take note of who will be the patient. Even me, will be frustrated about how she did it. maam meron nmn talaga band aid but before putting band aid she needs to press the cotton para mag stop ang bleed and prioritizing the tranfer of blood to tube coz syringe ginamit... im pretty sure alam nya ginagawa niya. we dont know the real thing that happen during that time.. edited na kasi pag sa vlogg na.

My son got multiple blood tests even during pandemic, and I could say na your feelings are valid, there are people who are sooo good with babies and kids, they could even calm the crying baby down, and I also experienced the worst blood extraction of my son, where we did all the work, and they could not get anything. Imagine the pain and the emotion of both the baby and the parents.

My son went through the same thing. He woke up from his nap and his temp was so high. He also kept on vomiting so I brought him to the ER. He tested positive, but the symptoms went away after two days. All will be well. Love you, Skyfam!

my cousin was sent to a hospital a few months after he was born because he was having trouble breathing, we sent him to a nearby hospital and they couldn't find his vain for the dextrose they had to do multiple attempts so my family sent him to St. Lukes. Nurses usually finds it hard to look for the vain of a baby since their vains aren't that visible compared to adults, i think you guys were just paranoid or being overwhelmed by the situation but its not easy for the nurses either.

I am a pediatric nurse. If you do a certain procedure to a child, you should prepare all the necessary things that you need before you start any procedure coz pricking a kid with an injection would be a very traumatic experience to a lot of kids most especially to those small ones. I myself is afraid of injection! hahaha... I feel sorry for Scottie. be well soon Scottie boo.

So glad he's ok! Our household got it too, but we didn't have our daughter swabbed anymore, even if she had symptoms, because we knew it would just stress her out and it can be painful.

Poor scottie! Please get well soon! It happened to my child as well (at that time he was only almost 3 months old) the hospital staff tried to extract his blood and they failed 3 times! I cried with my baby because he seemed really really hurt and after failing 3 times, the hospital staff decided to wait for the doctor to do it..... it was the worst experience ever.

I had a similar experience with a medical professional before and she even raised her voice to us knowing we did our best to hold my daughter so she could extract blood from her. It was horrible and no mother wants their child to experience excruciating pain.

We also have experiences in IV and blood extractions and even swabbed tests for my toddler .It's too painful for them, it's confusing for toddler's what's happening and they are strongly resisting the procedures and so us the hurt for the mother.

No Kris you have the right not to let that nurse/medtech continue taking the blood from your son it’s your right, she’s not professional obviously. Somebody who’s going to do this should be trained professionally it’s invasive so it’s a medical procedure, you had the right to let her stop if you think she’s not ready and not doing it right. Report her to the Company

Your feelings are valid. It is also okay to rant kasi if you keep it in sasama lang loob mo, yung stress levels mo will be even higher, tpos preggy ka pa. Its okay to vent so that all frustrations fom your body will go out. Plus I hope na scottie boo will be okay, no matter how careful we are this virus has a way of sneaking up on you.
