That snare is great for live Rock gigs, records good too. Evans heads and Puresound equalizers and you're good to go for any situation. If you really want to get crafty, put a strip of 1/4'' foam weather stripping around the inside of the shell between the center bead and top head and center bead and bottom head.

Essentially a yamaha stage custom steel with internal dumper. It sound a lot better in real life.
