We're taking the next steps toward building our future on the land. We need the essentials regardless the route we take. We contacted the electric company and should have them out this week to make some changes and install the proper equipment to get the power turned on. We take the opportunity to clean up the area they'll be working in, a mutually beneficial project as it's an area we've wanted to clean up since we stumbled upon this land.
We have a couple interesting finds and encounters along the way and the hard work is worth the effort. Thank you for coming by, please like and subscribe and enjoy the video!

The neighbor saying he wouldn't mind helping is a blessing and since he is older just might need something to do and he probably has a lot of knowledge. Since you are new to the area it might be nice to actually know someone .

Guys, us " old timers" still firmly believe in the old "that's what neighbors do ". Yeah, I understand that ya'll want to do it for yourselves, however I was always taught that there is a difference between a hand up and a hand out. You guys will get there. Have faith.

I could picture your Dad offering to help just like your neighbor did. The neighbor is probably an old, financially stable man who just wants to help others and have something to do. As you get older and no longer work, you have the time to help others like you never had before. He probably sees the volume of work you guys have ahead of you and wants to help. You really are blessed to have a good neighbor. I bet as time goes on you will end up valuing them more. He obviously is glad to see y’all there.

And he does something for you, you get to do something for him. That is how rural people are for the most part.

It’s as important to be a good receiver as it is to be a good giver. Relax and let the neighbor be neighborly. You will help them sometime as well They might be so happy to see the land improved that they are doing this to show how grateful they are.

As hard as it was for me, I accepted help from my neighbors when I first moved to my farm. They kept my driveway open in the winter with their tractor. They refused payment and have always been willing to help. Now 26 years later I mow their lawn as he’s no longer able to and I’m happy to finally have a way to pay them back for their kindness over the years.

It took me a long time to learn to accept help when offered. It was hit home when someone told me that I shouldn't take away the blessing someone else may get by helping me. My pride was getting in the way and who knows the friendships I may have missed by not letting someone into my circle.

Wow you guys are doing a great job! Country people, especially older ones, always believe in helping their neighbours. You will always have a chance to return the favor at a later date by helping him with something. Always best to keep friendships with your neighbors. And I’m sure if he is retired he loves puttering around and it gives him something to do.

We put an addition on our house 19 years ago and had the power company put our wires underground. Best decision we ever made!

YES, I'm so happy you all are going underground. It is a game changer. It's so worth the investment. I don't think you will ever regret it. It is so much safer in every way.

If you want to burn down the house, you could ask your local fire department if they would like to use it as an educational exercise. You never know until you ask. Good luck. Love watching you.

Older folks in the country appreciate seeing a young couple taking on projects like you guys are doing. Reminds them of when they first started out. Let them help, makes them feel better.

You guys are doing great. That's a ton of work to do with that type of equipment. Sometimes people just want to help & there's nothing more to it than that. Especially if they're retired, it gives them something to do & makes them feel useful again. I know that you want to feel like you've done it all alone but make the old guy feel good & accept his help lol.

I'd let the neighbour help, they are obvious glad that the land is becoming alive for yourselves and also they can keep an eye out when your not around. Every now and then bake them a cake as a thank you.x 😊

Accept graciously when help is offered. The old man is being neighborly. Be quick to help other people with what they need maybe what you can do for them it’s something they can’t do for themselves.. Even if in the dark of winter when there’s snow on the ground or it’s too cold call them and make sure they can get out and ham everything they need. Enjoy most people don’t get to live in an area that helps each other and are true neighbors
