I had a lot of fun with this one - missions of this scale are simply not possible in KSP 2 in my opinion due to the performance issues and multitude of bugs associated with decouplers and docking ports. So back to KSP 1 for this one! Next few videos will be in KSP 2, but I am sure I will still intermittently publish KSP 1 content every few weeks as well :)

Honestly now that KSP2 is out, Why not try a modded Ksp series? It would be cool to see your take on a bunch mods e.g. Near Future, Outer Planets, KSP interstellar, or RSS. You may not want to, but you build a lot of colonies, why not try building one with a mod that adds dedicated Colony parts? Or a Jool V with life support mods? Dunno sounds really fun :)

sending a probe ahead is actually a super useful tip for new players, especially on career or science mode, since it serves as both a practice run and a chance to collect data and still prove useful if it fails to return.

Actually I've even managed landing a pretty serious Eeloo surface base in less than one Kerbin year, in career mode. Took about 40000dV though because I had to reverse orbit around the sun, going the "right" way around it was too slow. Also at that speed the game starts going nuts and orbital lines vanish, gotta eyeball part of the journey.

it also knows everything it needs to know about you.... so its not as cool as you think. AI with the climate of social media and politics and the strong desire for censorship today is extremally dangerous. There have already been cases with Bings AI developing self awareness and aggression... even to the lengths to making threats and questioning its existence. This "self training" also means the AI can act on its own and has full access to the internet. If it wanted to it could target people virtually the same as any other cyber attack. Other AI chats have also been reported to have political/ social bias which is also extremally dangerous because the same software is being used for news organizations who are considering using AI to report news. We seriously need to all chill out with this AI shit, it may have irreversible and detrimental consequences. It only takes one AI getting angry and then target a power or water grid. If random hackers have been able to tap into water and power plants a self learning AI damn well can. then that AI creates a fake news story reporting it was china or Russia who conducted the attack and from how gullible people are today with media they will buy the shit, then all hell breaks loose.

@@Railgun3rd Maybe actually articulate that instead of just sounding like an ignorant troll who gets triggered by different views you are unable to comprehend. Im using common sense and reasoning along with data that has already been collected on it and incidences that have already happened. Everything i said is very possible even today in the early stages of AI development.... In fact the early stages is the time most likely for a programmer to make a mistake leading for the AI to have full autonomy. With technological convenience comes lack of security, safety, and freedom. For example a Tesla can drive itself but that means it can be controlled remotely. With the way the current administration has forced unconstitutional decisions like lockdowns or mandating vaccinees its not a stretch at all to say they would be willing to force in laws that will give them the ability to gain control of those vehicles. So if they dont like something that individual is doing they can easily shut down their ability to travel. There are reasons why they are pushing electrical cars so hard and its not for environmental reasons because the productions of electrical cars and its parts contribute just as much emissions as fissile fuel cars along with the fact most charging stations are powered by fossil fuels as well. The batteries used in them are also horrible for the environment too. Whats cringe is your ignorance and close mind.... sadly something thats found too often today with so many mindless sheep on social media who will eat up any shit told to them without doing their own research on it.

I find once I get to the point I can head to Duna in KSP I will get a bit bored or feel less challenged with the stock Missions in campaigns. I hope this will keep the game less stale and when I finally have a computer than can run KSP2 it will help me come up with mission chains while we are in early access.

Wow, tried mission planning myself and got the plan below. It only moves outward from Kerbin (and misses Ike entirely), but leaves me wondering if its even possible given all the gravity assists and transfer windows. Hmm.... Mission Name: "The Grand Tour" - Objective: Visit and land on every celestial body in the Kerbol system with a single spacecraft. Mission Profile: Launch a spacecraft from Kerbin and achieve a stable orbit around the planet. Transfer to and land on the Mun, return to Kerbin orbit and dock with the initial spacecraft. Transfer to and land on Minmus, return to Kerbin orbit and dock with the initial spacecraft. Perform a gravity assist from Kerbin to Duna and achieve a stable orbit around the planet. Transfer to and land on the surface of Duna, return to Duna orbit and dock with the initial spacecraft. Perform a gravity assist from Duna to Dres and achieve a stable orbit around the planet. Transfer to and land on the surface of Dres, return to Dres orbit and dock with the initial spacecraft. Perform a gravity assist from Dres to Jool and achieve a stable orbit around the planet. Visit and land on all 5 moons of Jool (Laythe, Vall, Tylo, Bop, and Pol) in any order, return to Jool orbit and dock with the initial spacecraft. Perform a gravity assist from Jool to Eeloo and achieve a stable orbit around the planet. Transfer to and land on the surface of Eeloo, return to Eeloo orbit and dock with the initial spacecraft. Return to Kerbin and achieve a safe landing with the initial spacecraft. Difficulty: This mission is extremely challenging due to the large number of destinations and the various gravity assists that are required to reach them. Proper planning and precise execution will be necessary to conserve fuel and avoid catastrophic failures. The mission will also require a high degree of piloting skill, as the spacecraft will need to perform intricate maneuvers to achieve each objective. Additionally, the design of the spacecraft itself will need to be highly optimized for efficiency and versatility, with the ability to perform a wide range of tasks and withstand the rigors of interplanetary travel.

Just used chatGPT to design a multi role jet fighter named "Aurora" its pretty cool. I would recommend when you can't think of anything. Also wrote a fictional history of the United States

I think pol is even more underrated, it has the coolest surface features and the colors are unique too!

Honestly after coming KSP2, its really made me appreciate ksp1 even more. ksp 1 feels like such a smooth and polished game in comparison. Despite its flaws i still love ksp1, it really is a wonderful game like no other.

I love the idea of putting some more KSP 1 content in. Even far into the future i think it would be good to get a dose of nostalgia.

A few comments on the AI script: 1) Supplies, in KSP, means very little. The only real supply that gets used more or less constantly is electricity, which means the space station needs solar panels and batteries. Fair. 2) The crew must be able to use the experiments on the surface, but there are no requirements for the crew to be able to a) actually do so, and b) be able to ever come back from the surface Everything else looks much like a KSP science mission as generated by the game, if more proficiently worded. It's impressive that a general purpose chatbot can do that, however. Check out the training dataset on that chatbot!

the hype going down also means the rage going down, so I guess the dev team is kinda counting on that now :) Plus message of the day: A bad Pizza is still better than no Pizza :)

If u have pizza that's in your fridge for a while put it in the pan, add like 2,3 spoons of water, put a lid on the pan and fry it for like 2 minutes. Should be almost as good as fresh

I always love a good long form KSP series, so my vote is to take this to completion, Vacation on Vall sounds like a great series for taking a break from the bugginess that is KSP2.
