KSP - Skylab Boost Mission

A recreation of a real-life concept to use the Space Shuttle to boost Skylab's orbit so that it could be used after Apollo. Unfortunately, the Space Shuttle was not ready until 1981, 2 years after Skylab deorbited, and so this mission did not happen.

I assume this mission would have happened in late 1979 or early 1980 if the technical delays didn’t happen with the shuttle schedule and the solar output accelerated the orbital decay rate of Skylab

Yes, I believe the original plan was for it to launch in mid-late 1979 before it was realized that it wouldn't be ready in time.

The orbiter is Shuttle Orbiter Construction Kit, the ET and some other parts are from reDIRECT, and the SRBS are from Photon Corp
