A masked hero saving people who knows martial arts, that's pretty much one of the formulas Kamen Rider shows had since its beginings in the 70's, compared to other hero shows in Japan, the action in Kamen Rider had a more martial art feel to them. And if I recall, the hero saving the world wasn't exactly the main theme of Ryuki.

Even in fact one of the old school Rider shows, Kamen Rider Super 1, his major abilites come from his knowlege of martial arts even his henshin pose is influenced by martial art poses.

You know, kicks, punches, jump kicks, roundhouse kicks...etc with added jumps and flips usually found in toku shows during that time. The martial art that KR Super 1 practiced was based on Shaolin martial arts.

no one got changed into nobody! Ryuki != Dragon Knight. Sure they used concepts such as mirror world and contract beasts but at best you can say it is a very unintended loose translation if you want to perceive it that way.

It was good that they didn't mention Saban's Masked Rider, the first americanized Kamen Rider show that debut 13 years before Dragon Knight did because it's better that way.

@spiderman5402 But Tommy Oliver is quicker, faster, stronger, has zords and better weapons, and his battlecry "Uht-seet-UYAAAAHHH!!!" will scare the beejeezies out of Len, Matt Mullins, and Kamen Rider!! Hahah. But yeah, Tommy vs. Len would be the Awesomest fight ever!! :D (Note: I also heard Jason Frank say that he was approached for a role in Kamen Rider, but turned it down because he believed that nobody in Power Rangers should be in Kamen Rider. They both need to be their own unique shows.)

Ignore this closedminded poser, Matt. He's just one of those purists who don't know what they're talking about. I've been a fan of the Kamen Rider franchise for a long time, I've seen the old and new Rider shows and I think KRDK is a good US adaptation of Kamen Rider Ryuki, it's different but great in its own way. Better than the garbage that is Saban's Masked Rider.

Its all a matter of existence. When you are KILLED, you cease to exist. When you get VENTED, you cease to exist in BOTH earth and mirror world and get trapped in purgatory aka advent void. Its all a matter of playing with existence. Plus not existing hold MAJOR consequences because these people have dreams, goals and desires to pursue. Honestly a better spin than 'THERE CAN ONLY BE ONE HIGHLANDER'. If you love it so much go back to that and never post again.

Ryuuki wasn't exactly the BEST Heisei KR show. Yet you defend it like it can never get a re-adaptation? So you hate Decade's version too?

Oh and Shinji isn't twice as emo and took him hell a long time to join in as well and get by his ambivalence? Like I said, both shows plots are different so comparing both like its one or the other is stupid. The fact you think DK destroys Ryuki is also stupid. Honestly if it keeps you at peace, just go back to watching ryuki and never watch dragon knight episodes ever again.
