Driverless taxis hit the streets of Los Angeles

Robotaxis will begin cruising the streets of Los Angeles on Thursday when Google spinoff Waymo starts offering free rides to some of the roughly 50,000 people who have signed up for its driverless ride-hailing service.
Waymo is expanding into Los Angeles, the second largest U.S. city, seven months after California regulators authorized its robotaxis to begin charging for around-the-clock rides throughout San Francisco. That came despite objections from local officials who asserted the driverless vehicles posed unacceptable risks to public safety.
Although Waymo isn't charging for rides in its robotaxis in Los Angeles to start, the company said in a blog post announcing the expansion that it will eventually collect fares from passengers there too.

Just what we need right now. Not help for the people, not the boarder. Yes, expedite legislation to allow these cars in one of the busiest cities in the world. Meanwhile the pothole on the freeway has been there for a decade

So if I get in an accident, it’s the cars fault not mine. When you tell your car insurance agent that my car drivers itself does he call a shrink or a cop

Is that what those are? Lol I had been seeing them, and even one this morning on the side of me this morning with no driver. Lol. I assumed they were capturing street views with the spinning camera method for google maps or something . Lol.
