@@auggie803 Trees and vegetation stop erosion when it does rain. This is why you can see some of the hillside is landscaped with shrubs in a grid fashion. In a few shots you can see small landslides with large boulders near the bottom of the canyon. The next heavy rain will result in heavy mud flows and a slide or two. This fire was the result of a discarded cigarette out of a vehicle on Pacific (the road through the canyon).

TheRange if you watch it there is some air attack. They can’t constantly run 1,000 helicopters to be constantly dropping retardant and water. Planes and helicopters are very busy during fire season because they are dealing with tons of fires around the country

The fire engines are getting water from fire hydrants. The water drops from helicopters are filling up from fire engines, back yard swimming pools, ponds, lake, strategic placed portable drop tanks ( looks like a 3000 - 5000 gallon) orange or yellow square or round swimming pool.

They're busy with other fires north of LA. All the assets were tied up with other fires. Other assets on standby are called in once a fire reaches a certain stage. This fire wasn't a major concern. There was no wind. Nor was there enough fuel to warrant a massive assault. Like everything else, there is a limit.

@@cd5353 an aluminum dioxide fueled fire is very much like burning magnesium, it's almost impossible to put out and if you put water on it, it grows much much stronger
