Rebecca Grossman, a former socialite convicted of striking and killing two boys while driving under the influence in Westlake Village in 2020, was sentenced to 15 years to life in prison on Monday.

she's not gonna get out in 15 - she's just eligible for parole in 15 years. When the time comes, there isn't going to be a dry eye at the parole hearing board, and then they'll talk about how she tried to get out of responsibility for it and blaming someone else. She'll probably die in jail, or at best get out when she's really, really, really, really old

She did get life. 15 years to life means she has to serve 66% of the 15 years & then she goes to board. Doesn't mean shes getting out during her board meeting. She could get denied. An even if the parole review grant's it then it's up to the governor to allow & he could also deny it. So it's not a easy process shes in also shes in her 60s. If your saying she should have gotten LWOP. That wouldnt have happened in her case.

I hate it when they give concurrent sentences. It was two lives taken, so 15 years for each murder, served non-concurrently for 30 years would be the appropriate sentence. I cannot believe this narcissistic, cheating, selfish, murderer had the audacity to ask for leniency, believing her suffering was enough. Rot.

Having to deal with this for so long, and listening to that defense attorney. I've known a lot of children in my life. Children of family, friends and neighbors. I love children, I really do. I've had adult friends horribly murdered. But I've never known any children who died so horribly. But I hope to god I never do. And just one of the reasons why I never wanted to have children. Parents can do great, and have happy, loving children...and then a Rebecca Grossman comes along, and takes your children away from you. She deserved 34 to life. Because she IS a killer and a menace to the innocent.

she's just up for parole in that minimum time ( assuming she behaves ). The family of the little boys will most likely be every parole hearing, bringing back up what she did and how badly it affected them, and how she refused to take responsibility for it. I doubt she'll be granted parole in 15 years when she becomes eligble

@@Charmander009I am a former inmate, did 7 years, 8 months and 11 days out a 12 years sentence, I was okay all the way through I am okay now. She should be dancing happy after getting 15 years for killing two kids, if the kids she killed were my kids the whole world can bet their heads on the fact that her kids would be in the same place where the kids she killed are. I used to work in the LAPD Crime Scene Photo Unit. Attending to deaths in such incidents, you don't even want to IMAGINE what happened to those boys. And their other siblings and parents had to witness it. While that awful woman, ran away. So many crashes are ALL because of DUI, speeding and other recklessness. Hit and runs, should carry a mandatory 20-life. And regardless you're wealthy or poor, you deserve to get the same sentence for PREVENTABLE deaths you cause. And certainly for the audacity of being of high risk, and still on the road before someone's beautiful children died.

I live here and can tell you her and people in her inner circle see the the 2 children and their parents as "little people" that are not on their class/economic level. This is where our laws need to change. In reality, you should get five years mandatory just for leaving the scene of an accident. And it should be 15 years mandatory per kid. Or per human being. Do you want to solve problems you have to be strict on the rules. And one of these rules is we need to take away the power of the judge. He has no choice but to do the five years for leaving. 15 years per life. And same with the driving while intoxicated. Five years. These charges should be mandatory no release for good behavior. You wanna stop hitting on DUIs, you gotta be strict right from the very first one. in some countries, it’s an immediate three year of no driving privileges. They don’t care where you have to go who you have to help what you have to do. You cannot be behind the wheel of a car for three years. Too many judges will not give maximum sentences. And that’s why I believe we need to remove them from that power making choice. It’s the law and that’s what you have to serve.

I believed this is pretty standard at current sentencing guidelines. Remember that daughter, who killed her mom with a cooking pan and stabbed her 20 times, when she was discovered that she's been faking going to college. She got the same sentence for 2nd degree murder - 15 years to life. Most likely will be out by 7 to 8 years.

People seem to be confused about her sentence. 15 years to life is not 15 years. Her sentence means she has to serve 66% of 15 years before shes allowed to go to board. An the parole review could deny her however many times they want to. An even if they grant it then it's up to the governor who can deny it also. She wont definitely get out on her first or second board. Especially in California it's extremely rare when they grant it. That's mainly for people who have served over 20 to 30 years on good behavior. Plus shes in her 60s & shes a double child killer. There are many women who are mothers that would doing anything they can to be with their kids. The women prisoners hate people like her with a passion. Just cuz she comes from a prominent family doesnt mean shes gonna get any special treatment. Especially in California prisons.

She is complete trash for even asking for probation saying she never saw them. Well, if she wasn't looking through booze-adddled glasses and doing double the speed limit...she might have reacted better. She didn't stick around to help because she knew she was drunk and at fault.
