The Class 21 was delivered in 2 batches, the first in 1965 and the second in 1968. This class was not an outstanding success, but nevertheless they served KTM for more than a quarter of a century. They have now been withdrawn, but one example is preserved. Class 21 probably carried the biggest variety of liveries of any Malaysian class. They started life in green (1960s), moved on to maroon (1970s), orange/yellow (early 1980s) and silver (late 1980s).
