I picked up a 2024 300xc a few weeks ago and i agree on the front end weight. I think the best settings are 5mm fork height, Comfort settings with +2 on compression and 107mm sag. I found the extra sag takes the weight off the front. I'm 185lbs without gear. I tried the mid west lever and took it off as i don't like the engagement feeling.

Fantastic review of the 2023 TBI. Great details on how the new chassis translates effectively to woods terrain and the obstacles. The electronic PV and TBI make for perfect linear power delivery characteristics. Thanks for sharing!

Yeah its really good, took a minute or so to get used to the front feeling a little heavier but as soon as you have ridden for about 5 minutes its the most perfect feeling bike ever, I think the new frame is light years ahead of the pervious model and the front forks don't seem to walk back and forth like the old bike did with the flexy frame, make the forks feel better because of less frame flax too. I can bet the footpegs are back about 6mm from the previous model too (but haven't measured it yet)

Glad you like it, having Chrisma there to give her opinion is valuable as she's one of the best girl riders out there and has had a number of Carb, TPI and now the TBI 2 strokes

I really enjoyed your review. I have been torn between the 300 XC and the 300 XC-w After listening to you both, I am definitely leaning towards the XC. I was a little concerned because the majority of the trails here are single track.

Why does everyone think that riding gear only weighs 10 pounds? Boots by themselves weigh 10 pounds! Then add a helmet 3, knee guards 1, pants 2, gloves 0.5, jersey 0.125, 1 litre hydro 2.5, goggles 0.124, and sometimes a chest protector 2 and you have at least 21 pounds!

Dealer just uncrated the '23 I bought and with the savings I ordered a set of 6500 inserts which puts me at the same price as a '24 with a much better fork.

Thanks for the great review, now you have had a bit more time on the bike would you recommend changing the Shock spring if your in the 215 lb range or run the stock spring as I hear the rear end is a touch stiffer? Cheers.

absolutely always set the sag and if it wont come up to spec with your weight get the heavier spring.

Thanks for the detailed review. @enduroxma I appreciate the comfort settings comment. What air pressure are you using in your forks?

I think they were set at 128psi

@@ReeceTasker Interesting comments from both you on the video. The stock air setting is 141psi for both XC machines so I thought @enduroxma possibly would run a lower pressure due to rider weight. I always set mine just before the ride because it can change so much based on elevation and temperature.

Do you think the power is harder to handle in the woods than the 300TPI? I'm 57 and don't get to ride as often as I'd like but I still like the 300 power but don't want more hit that would wear me out. Curious what your take on that is.

Much more progressive power than the previous model. I put it down to the electric power valve. Really nice to ride and good to know the bike is ready anytime you need it

@@darinvanderpol3351 I also rode the 250 xc TBI. Just more revy with less torque than the 300. 300 makes you ride more in the torque than in the HP

Hi there.. you said you’d change from 9mm to 10mm on the brakes but you mentioned what I’d imaging to be clutch pull in the same sentence.. Can you explain please if you taking about brakes or clutch If I want to make the clutch pull lighter.. what do you recommend? Thanks !!

The bike comes with a 10mm master cylinder for the clutch, changing to a 9mm reduces the clutch effort a lot and gives you a more progressive clutch. All the pro racers I know use 9mm clutch masters

So KTM got something right after years. Finally only took them forever. And maybe they will not seize like the 2022 300 XC TPI's were famous for. Mine seized 2 times in the 1st 7 hours until KTM put a good crate motor into it. You can make the 2022 for example very linear also. I did to mine. Had to fix a few of KTM's mistakes. Did they stop putting the crappy Dunlop AT 81's on the 2023? The AT81 front tire is absolute junk. No side grip,... You do not have to use a specific oil. Just get the oil / gas mixture correct. Why would it be burbly? What is the idea behind the goofy radiator cap? What you have to change fork oil after every 2 days of riding? They get water in them. Something is wrong.

The 22s problems were mainly my own doing, everything was easily fixed and its been a great bike ever since. BTW I have had 8 x TPI bike and well over 1000 riding hours on them. My 2020 300xc was the problematic one requiring a few tweaks and a change to the Iridium plug to make it run perfectly. The 22 was the faulty fork which RMR fixed and then the Radiator hoses getting damaged in a get-off out of a creek. Then it was just the usual KTM stuff like the preload adjusters being made out of shit plastic, poorly routed wires etc.

@@ReeceTasker wow 8 ktms in that short time.. personally i had to much headace with the orange brand....now i have Beta , KX and YZ.....the japanese have been flawless, the Beta soso. But i will never go back.... always needed something fixed. To many negatives compared what i have now. Thanks for the long answer Cheers

Im getting the 2023 ktm250xc this saturday! Im really hyped because itll be my first big bore 2 stroke, im coming off of a 2022 ktm125sx! I am so excited to try it out but also a tiny bit concerned i should have gotten the 300!

I’ve heard & seen lots of problems with these bikes blowing up at 70 hrs or so. Have you heard this?

No I have not, my friend Trystan Hart was testing prototypes well over a year ago so lots of R&D and I have not had any word of them blowing up.

Yes in Europe many 2023's blew up. No different than mine and 100's of others in N. American as my 2022 XC TPI seizing 2 times in 7 hours. Until KTM put in a good crate motor.
