As a 690 owner who likes single track, I'm just in awe of this fellas skill. Very technical terrain. He handled it like a boss. Very impressive!

I'll let him know 👍

In awe....he didn't do a good job at all. Why wasn't he weighing his pegs during the ride. The 690 is heavier than a 2 stroke, and you need to take advantage of that. This guy isn't. Sorry.
@DmitriyAdv11 ай бұрын
That went about as I though it would. The 690 likes going fast offroad a lot more than it does slow. Props to the owner for being brave enough to try, and to you guys for helping him push/drag 😅

Exactly. 1st gear is good for 40mph and that's just the wrong gearing for what they were doing.

Change the sprockets and use a Recluse Clutch. Then file down the turning "stops" so I can turn sharper. Then you can do these trails much easier... that's what I did to mine.

I loved the “ we won’t make him do it. So he won’t hurt himself.” Then you flop it...that’s me all the time.

You guys are all mental - that is some serious terrain! I live in Colorado, ride a 300 XC and also own a 701. The 701 is great for all surface exploring and fun within it's comfort zone, but I know just how lard ass heavy it is when the going gets truly tight, steep and gnarly. The problem with the 690 platform bikes is they are well suspended and good enough handling that they can suck you into situations that are inadvisable when astride a 350 pound 693cc motorcycle. Been there, done that on some of Colorado's finer 4x4 trails. As a result I no longer underestimate what a good 4x4 is capable of. On the other hand, my Yosh can equipped Rottweiler Performance tuned 701 has a truly stupid amount of power, and that is always fun when it has room to run, on road and off. My 701 is a freakin' weapon on the back roads, paved or dirt. 90 miles an hour down a rural route dirt road with no witnesses other than cattle? Seems like a reasonable proposition to me when riding my 701 😆

So true I do 90 down dirt roads on my 690 all the time. Also have road some Colorado trails that I shouldn't have. Got stuck in a valley with some snow on the hill out got tired of picking that pig up.

Good to see you still at it mate. That jump with the 690 off that step up through death valley was insane lol. Hes a good man.

That was mental wasn't it, anyone who knows that spot knows how ballzie that jump was!

No tuvo problema con la temperatura del motor? Mi 690 cuando me quedo un poco enganchado se calienta y se enciende la luz roja de temperatura del refrigerante. Buen video. Un saludo.

Amazing ride. How tall is the rider on the 690?

Thank for watching. Glenn is about 5"9. Tomorrow will be another ride featuring him, make sure you check it out, it's a cracker.

Some of that nasty terrain is better suited for Trials bikes and goats!

U know the "Erzbergrodeo".? There was a dude, who came with his 701, drove the hole race and after ist, he drove home. Its possible. You just have to want it.

People who are 6’2 and up can man handle 500 or 690 on trails. Smaller man are asking for trouble
@DmitriyAdv11 ай бұрын
A 500 and a 690 are completely different bikes. The 500 is still the enduro frame. Same dimensions as a 250, 300, 350… etc. just a bigger displacement engine. It doesn’t feel heavier than a 350 to me. A 690 is a completely different trellis frame. Probably has more in common with one of the KTM adventure bikes than the enduros. Weighs almost 100lbs more than the enduros as well.

I think he did a fantastic job, anyone who knows some of the areas we went to knows what sort of gradient the hills are, as always the camera flattens things out.
@rodmcvicar76642 ай бұрын
The ktm rider needs to weight his pegs. Ypure not going to get any traction with no weigh on your back tire.
