'HELP': Kite surfer rescued after using rocks to spell out 'HELP' | KTVU

Күн бұрынA kite surfer was rescued on Sunday from a beach in Santa Cruz after a private helicopter saw the surfer's plea "HELP" spelled out with rocks in the sand, according to Cal Fire.

This is the second time a rescue has happened on that same beach. We sail out of Davenport Landing and this guy probably was not very good at working his way back upwind. It takes skill and effort to do so. That kitesurfer should probably sail at Waddell where getting blown downwind is way less hazardous. I was once out with my friend Matt and another windsurfer got a huge chunk taken out of the back of his board by a Great White shark on the outside at Davenport Landing. I’ll never forget that day. The board used to be mounted in Doug Hauts surf shop in Santa Cruz. Not sure if it’s still there.
