I imagine the original gojira gaining his concousness again and realized that if he betrays the humans they will have to make him feel the pain he had when he was a living organism and is forced to wipe out his species knowing its the only choice and if he dies they will rebuild him and reprogram him over and over and over and over, it will never stop, he will just die and comeback with a new model just to kill another fellow godzilla terrorizing tokyo, no one can understand him, no one.
