KUALA LUMPUR STREET FOOD TOUR | We tried Malaysian food at the Taman Connaught Night Market
In today’s episode we will be heading to the Taman Connaught Night Market (Pasar Malam) to try some Kuala Lumpur street food! The Pasar Malam Taman Connaught is one of Kuala Lumpur’s longest night markets, taking place every single Wednesday, making it the perfect place to try Malaysian street food in Kuala Lumpur!
We start with one of our favorite Kuala Lumpur street food snacks so far: apam balik, a crunchy thick pancake filled with peanuts, and in this case sugar! After that we head further into the night market to try fried dumplings, air mata kuching, pisang goreng, taiwanese sausage, dadar gulung, iced lime juice, and some black pepper chicken!
With the amount of street food stalls available at this Kuala Lumpur night market it was hard to decide on what to try, and after tasting a couple of things we know we will have to return to this night market to try more!
We will be exploring Kuala Lumpur for the next few weeks so be sure to subscribe to join us on our next adventure!

Yes, well done on going to a night market or we call it "Pasar Malam". There are many around the country. It starts usually before sunset and ends around 10-11 pm. It is done on closed road so that is why it is done at night when traffic is less.

Inside the lime drink there are preserved sour plum..to give it a good salty contrast to the sourness of the lime. You can eat the flesh but watchout for the pit. After a while when the plum has released its saltiness the flesh will be quite soft to eat. Wow crispy pork..my favourite. You should try onde-onde,too.

You should try pasar malam at Taman Tun Dr Ismail and Kampong Baru where you can get food from the malay vendors, they have very good kueh and ramly burgers, spicy food, etc. Now that you have tried the pasar malam at Taman Connaught where vendors sell mostly Chinese food, try the malay pasar malam and let us know which pasar malam you like best.

just enjoy the foods ,no comparison between this 2 types of night market. just certain chinese foods which muslim can't sell in the night market would be disadvantage for muslim vendors , means less choices .Not all vendors foods from both side is tasty....so choose which is suits your taste.

We usually eat the pisang goreng (the sour variety, usually its bigger in size) like pisang nangka or pisang tanduk, dipped into sambal kicap (soy sauce, chili, garlic and lime) for a savory snack or into sugar (not icing sugar or castor) for a sweet snack.... But if its the sweet variety ie pisang raja or pisang mas we just eat it plain

@@TheAmeris I've noticed that u guys liked d kueh ketayap. U guys probably know that d pancake is made from flour, egg yolk, coconut milk n pinch of salt n essence of aromatic pandan leaves, a family of screwpines plant. D filling is made from fresh grated coconut that is cooked with palm sugar. If u guys like this, then next time try onde onde or buah melaka, it's in a form of a small ball made from a mix of rice n glutinous rice flour n d pandan essence with palm sugar filling n coated with fresh grated coconut. There r numerous Malaysian kueh, desserts that r made from similar ingredients either with flour, rice flour or glutinous flour, pandan essence, coconut milk or cream, grated coconut n sugar or palm sugar. Try to look for kueh nona manis, it's on UTube, not always available in d street, but I find this underrated kueh quite pleasant. 🙂
