I have a Kubota B2601 for 3 years. One of the least talked about features is the twin brakes. I use them a lot for positioning the tractor or implement in tight places competition doesn’t have that. Also the 3 range transfer case is important feature competitors don’t offer.
@PaleHorseOutdoors
@PaleHorseOutdoors 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Wayne! Yep you're right. I've never used the breaks independently myself but that does sound like a feature that many folks could really use. The 3-range gearbox was one of the things that sold me on the B2601 early on! Thanks for watching! - David

Oh yea a "tractor" is only a REAL Tractor if it has TWO Brake pedals. And a "Transmission "has 8 gears not not rotating variable plungers. A hundred hours just means "it didn't fall apart yet". Hydro-static makers are in "kahoots" with Massive expenditures of fluids & filters for these rigs.

Still in production... Just got home from the dealership and our new B2601 is scheduled to be delivered tomorrow with .4hr on it. We only have 2 acre in southern Arkansas, but intend to build a fish pond and take on several landscaping projects. I've been DIGGIN for Con's on this tractor and am having a hard time finding them!!! Thank you so much for your video. Great quality and content!

Hello Dave, I own a B 2601 and the first thing I did was purchased a EZ step from Paul Short. His company is in Canada called Specialty Repairs and Custom Mods. This is the best thing I ever bought. I had a knee Put in and struggled to get on the tractor. The number one con taken care of. I tried the Kubota step from the B 2650 too much deflection. Paul’s step is solid.

Hey Wayne! I bought and installed the one for the 2650 a few weeks after making this video. It works but you're right that it is a bit flimsy. I'll take a look at Paul's step when I need to replace it. Thanks for watching and sharing your insights, Wayne I really appreciate it.

Hello David, I retired down here on 5.5 acres in Central Oregon about four years ago after living in Seattle for 11 years. I purchased a new 3301L series Kubota at the time and have really enjoyed it. I had a lot of sage brush on my property along with Juniper trees. Although I do not have a grapple, I did use the front loader and box blade to clear the property. I found that I did not use the LandPride brush hog that came with the tractor and ended up selling the brush hog. My seat did not come with the arm rests that yours did, but it did come with a seat belt that I continuously use while on the hills at my property. I also purchased a pair of LandPride pallet forks that have frequently come in handy and can lift up to 1200 pounds. My tractor currently has 200 hours on it and I have never had any problems. Just make sure you keep up with the maintenance schedule, which includes greasing the grease fittings every 10 hours of usage. Your channel was recommended by DIY My Way. Good video - Cheers!
@PaleHorseOutdoors
@PaleHorseOutdoors 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Cliff, I almost traded my brush hog in after the first use because I didn't think I'd really use it again. But then a neighbor asked for help and I've used it twice there now and a couple times on my property doing some trail clearing. I only use my rake every now and then, but I have used it more recently. I know a lot of folks have the pallet forks instead of a grapple (Martin at DIY My Way included). I like that I can do 99% of the work with logging using the grapple and pretty much stay in the seat. I've learned to use that thing like a giant robotic hand. LOL. Yep on the maintenance. My next video will be a complete 100 hour service of the tractor and FEL. Thanks for watching and I hope you come back! :)

I have a BX approaching 50 hours. I love it other then feeling tippy. I wish I had additional hydraulic for a grapple but I see there are some that are now electric. I’m really surprised I have not damaged my loader with what I put it through. I have 4 acres and at the time of purchase I felt the B was too big for what I need. And so far the BX is just right. I did add a canopy with a fan that blows down on to the operator, that was a great investment, not only keeps me cool but helps keep the skeeters away.

Hello David, Just found your channel, I look forward to watching your other videos. We love our B2601 as well. Our grapple is arriving next week, can't wait. You will love the step. I bought the step for the B2650, and it fits perfectly, the holes are already there on your tractor. GP Outdoors has a nice video on the kubota step, and gives you the bolt size you will need to pick up. I think a grab handle on the loader arm might be my next project. What a great video! And I also like the other one where you show how you are using the grapple. My boyfriend and I bought 46 acres mostly wooded area but also with about 6 acres of open apple orchard and grass land. We are struggling with the decision if we should get a small Steiner tractor, which is very good for mowing on steep hills because it has a very low center of gravity. The Kubota 2601 is also rather low to the ground, but not quite as low and we think it probably doesn’t manage wetland quite as well as the Steiner does. So I was very happy to hear from you that you have some very hilly terrain to work on and it seems you are doing well with it. And just like you, we have a lot of logging work and therefore would probably use the grapple quite a bit. And we would like to cut some trails through the mountain laurels and seeing your trails is just so amazing! Did you do all that with the York rake? Also, your forest is just so beautiful! What a beautiful piece of property!

pretty much spot on with your observations. The reason I never put a step is that the ones O've see from Kubota have to much flex on the step which I don't like. I'mnot really that big at 195 lbs but like sturdy things and it does not appear sturdy. Italso does not tick out far enough when getting off for me. I am 68 and yes it's a little bit annoying. I use the handle to pull on when gettin on and when geting off thinking if I were to slip at least I have a grip on something. A tool box that is pretty useful would have been nice. Been looking at a rather nice one at Harbor freight but not sure. I am very stringly considering put extensions on my tires so I have a bit more stability. I to have hills to climba nd it has left my butt puckering sometimes and i swear my tire may have come off the ground once or twice and my loader was down as far as you could get it. Overall I am pretty happy with it. May consider a stump bucket, brush hog, forks and Hoe.

Only problem I had with treadle pedal on my New Holland TC26DA was ice getting under the heel in winter, and it happened often and quickly when plowing snow.. I liked it otherwise but have gotten used to the dual pedal on my bigger tractor. You might want to put something in the ends of that open loader beam to keep wasps out in the summer. Just about anything that plugs 'em up should do the trick.

I have a sub-compact Massey Ferguson GC2300 and I think it a great machine, but the size of the B series Kubotas, (and the 1500 series Masseys LOL) are what I think is just about perfect. I use Premiere Pro for editing, Audition for audio cleanup and AfterFX for effects. I don't do many effects other than the on-screen graphics, but occasionally I have to "fix" footage like in the DIY sprayer trailer video I digitally removed a wire dragging behind the trailer that I didn't notice when filming. @@PaleHorseOutdoors The rear Pto seal was leaking, and it was loosing coolant but could not find a leak so they replaced the water pump. It is still loosing coolant later now so it is back again. I am hoping it is not a head gasket or engine block issue. I don’t know how comfortable I am with them tearing into an almost new engine with the price you pay for these machines if you get what I am saying. I am hoping if that is the issue Kubota will work with me on something.

Hi, thanks for watching! So I have hills that range from 5deg to 45deg and steeper in some places. I go up/down the steep grades without loads to get around, but always perpendicular to the slope.
