Awesome man! You are gonna LOVE that tractor.. Nothing wrong with plowing with a bucket as you saw in my video, and those edge tamers help a ton, I was gonna buy or build my own tamers for this season only i decided to build my own pushbox instead, I actually made a few videos on the build. I plowed with just the bucket though for 3 years and it worked fine aside from taking longer, it def got the job done that's for sure. Thanks for watching!

Thanks Mike I appreciate it. I had a backblade but sold it. The backblade wouldn't work well for plowing my loose stone driveway tho as it would grab all the rock with the snow. If I had a pavement driveway though I would totally agree. I plan to add a top backdrag edge to the pushbox tho so I will be able to easily backdrag near doorways and such very soon so keep an eye out for that video! Thanks Stephen! Yes the ROPS BARELY fits inside my old shed haha.. litterally by like 1/8” haha. This is why I just finished building a brand new pole barn.. so now I have lots more room for my tractor and attachments and we can work on things more often as well on the channel .. check out my more recent snow plow videos from this winter or my landscaping videos using this tractor all from this year, I think you’d like them!

Thanks Bill I really appreciate it! How many acres of land are you planning to maintain with it? If you give me that I should be able to help. A sub compact tractor is nice to have, they do an astounding amount of work.. way more than most people would have you believe! The Kubota BX is my 1st choice, 2nd is a JD 1025R, 3rd choice would be the New Holland 25S.. 4th choice would be either a Kioti, mahindra, or Bobcat sub compact.. the Bobcat and kioti are made by the same company tho so it’s basically the same tractor.. also the messey GC1723 and the RK 24 are great machines too.. I would sit on each tractor brand and see which one personally feels best to YOU.. since your the one driving it you wanna be comfortable and feel good on it.. also dealer support is huge to a new tractor owner.. so if you have a JD dealer 20 min away but a Kubota dealer is 2 hour away.. go with a John Deere if you like it.. that’s what I’d do in that situation.. hope this helps! @@BiffsEquipment I'm on a reasonably steep Hill with several walls to rebuild and drainage culverts. It's actually just over a half an acre but my body is beat up and I can no longer do what I used to do when I was younger. I actually enjoy digging and planting of shrubs and trees etc. I also want to get a larger place that's a little flatter so I can grow a decent vegetable garden and have a nice three or four bay shop. It's a disaster right now tools in the basement some in the dilapidated shed and some in my living quarters... To make matters worse The Village doesn't authorize storage of said equipment....grrr I've looked at JD, Kubota, Kioti, New Holland and the blue model, LM or LS? I was negotiating on sale when I found out about the village restrictions. I'm getting by with a small garden tractor plowing but my driveway is flat on the top about 60 ft by 50 ft surrounded by the house and walls I'm at traverse down to the main road about 130 ft with an approximate 17% grade. If I run out of room pushing the snow I use the snow blower to toss it up over the wall up the hill. Today I was sizing up a magnolia figuring it was about six or seven hundred pounds and the whole would have to have been about 5 x 5 x 5 ft deep. I'm on the fence pushing my boundaries thinking of tearing the shed down and park it out of view for now... It drives me nuts how we take pride in ownership trying to maintain and improve our property only to run into restrictions and get penalized with taxes for improvements....

Yah that is actually a good idea :. I usually keep all my implements on pallets but don’t have a spare pallet for the bucket, covering it up is a good idea to keep the ice/snow off it and the pallet would help it from freezing to the wet snowy ground Thanks for your comment Lee!

Hey Tom, congrats on your new purchase! Yah the loader/bucket will work just fine for plowing on pavement.. that’s all a lot of people use.. my father has been using his bucket for 6-7 years now to plow on his gravel driveway and he’s never had an issue.. he actually prefers his bucket over anything else he’s tried because of the simplicity of it. Haha yah buddy! Gotta love the Cummins. It makes an appearance in my videos quite a bit in the summer when I’m taking my tractor out on jobs. Since this video I have upgraded the exhaust on it, added 150hp injectors, beefed up the trans, upgraded the valve body, upgraded the turbo, and much more! It’s a monster now. If you look in the “playlists” tab at the top of my channel page, you’ll see an entire playlist dedicated to my Cummins 24v and some of the stuff Iv done to it. Check it out you might like it. Did some of the trans work in one video also 👍🏻

Hey Dan, sorry I’m only now just seeing your comment, congrats on your new tractor your gonna love that machine! As for hitting something, with my driveway I know I don’t have anything like that that I can hit so it’s not a concern but if I did have a cement pad what I would do is I would ride up to it the first time very slowly and see what happened when I tried to go over it, if it stopped it dead then I would know to avoid it. You could tilt it back and that may help specially if your plowing with a bucket, with a pushbox tho you would have to tilt it back enough to allow the skids to easily ride up and over the edge of the cement pad, so long as it did you would be fine. I would just say take it easy your first few times and go slow and see what happens. Also don’t be afraid if you catch it a time or two, it may seem very violent to you in the seat but I assure you the tractor hardly minds it so long as your not going super fast but it’s always best to take it slow and steady specially around obstacles like that. That being said I have caught my loader on many other things over the years and it’s never affected it.. sometimes it just happens. Hope this helps!

It’s very hard to find BX plow videos where the guy just uses a bucket and his loader.. lots of people have fancy attachments that they will use but many other people can’t afford all those fancy snow removal attachments so it’s nice to be able to find a Kubota bx plowing snow with just the loader bucket Thanks for your subscription! It’s been a slow winter thus far but there’s no doubt I’ll be making another video next time we get some snow

We havnt gotten much snow this year tho much like last year (When this video was taken) We did just recently get pounded tho with 3 feet of snow and I recorded 2 new plow videos that ill be editing and uploading very soon so if you like plow videos stay tuned! Biff, I live outside of Chilton, Wisconsin, about 45 miles south of Green Bay. I have a snowblower on my B 2601 and it works great. Lots of power, today will be my first snow clearing of the year. We got 2 inches but the forecast was for 6 or more. I enjoy your videos a lot as you don’t take short cuts. Take care. Brand new they cost between 18-22k. They cost a lot more money than most people think. Tho I found mine used with out a loader for under 5k and bought the loader brand new separately for 3k. 8k is much better than 20k that’s for sure and it’s just as good haha.

@@BiffsEquipment I sold my 2004 Vette and bought the BX2370 almost 2 years ago. It came with the loader, the 52" snowblower and the cab by Curtis Industries. I miss the Vette, but the Kubota is year round for landscaping, hauling stuff, etc., and the snowblower takes over for the rest of the year. Couldn't do that with the Vette. LOL I like the way your loader hooks up. I have a guy from the shop come out and change out the loader and snowblower. Did you modify the original loader hookup process? Wish you lived closer, I'd pay you for the mods that I've seen you do. Cheers, Bob (Syracuse).

Hey Jeremy, I usually run it around 2500rpm give or take depending on the speed in which I want to work.. if I’m just taking my time then I’ll run 2200 if I’m trying to work a bit faster then I’ll run 2800.. only run full revs when I need to lift, Dig, or pull something super heavy. Does your hour meter spin faster the faster your engine revs?

@@BiffsEquipment yea i know it goes by hours. Mine isn't digital on my massey but man running 2600 rpm on it between 30-45 mins will equal a hour on my gauge. Even though it has only ran not even an hour.

The Plow Guys thanks for your comment! I do have a country line backblade for it already but only use that for grading work in the summer. If your talking about a snow blade for the front then yah I don’t have one, I really do like using the bucket tho as it allows me to put the snow right where I want it but my naibor has an old plow blade from a John Deere garden tractor that he said I could have, I have thought about making it into a snow blade for the bx by welding it to a skidsteer coupler, it is already an angle blade as well, maybe I’ll work on that in the spring, I’ll add it to my list of projects! Haha And thanks guys, once you get so many hours in the seat of a machine it pretty much just becomes second nature to be smooth with the controls I’ll have to check out your videos soon, pretty sure I stumbled across your videos a time or two in the past but not totally sure

@@BiffsEquipment We are still new to the tractor nation. We have a lot to learn. When I was looking for a blade for the front loader they were crazy expensive. Had a local shop bend the metal for me and I welded it together. Well, weld might be a strong word. It is stuck together for the time being LOL.

The Plow Guys haha right on! What type of tractor do you have? Glad to hear your getting into the tractor seen! I have plowed a LOT with a western V-plow and other plow trucks and let me tell you none of them are even close to being as enjoyable or as fun as plowing with a tractor! Your gonna love it. Also to answer your questions before about tractor warm up and cool down.. you should always give the tractor about 1/4 throttle on startup to help it from vibrating so badly and to help it run smooth as it starts..once it’s been running for 10-20 seconds you can then lower the throttle back down to idle as I normally do.. this just helps the longevity of the motor and specially helps those motor mounts from the bad vibrations on cold start up.. Once it’s running leave it sit there and idle for 10-30min depending on how cold it is, if your hydraulic fluid is cold it’s gonna be very thick which is hard on the pumps because the fluid just can’t flow like it normally would through those small ports inside the valves and what not. You’ll know if your fluid is still too cold because your loader functions will be very slow/laggy or sluggish. Lastly when you shut it down it’s best to idle it down first for a few seconds and then shut it down.. tho this is more important to a diesel with a turbo charger as letting it idle before shut down will allow the turbo to cool down as oil passes through it.. this is why most guys will wait a few seconds before shutting it off but it doesn’t hurt to do this to a naturally aspirated diesel either and it’s good practice. Sounds like your really interested in learning about tractors for sure! It’s very addicting and once you get use to running a tractor you’ll wanna run any type of machine you can get yours hands on, that’s what happened to me! Good luck and have a merry Xmas guys!

The Plow Guys awesome buy buddy! Super stoked for you, you must be in heaven. Let me tell you these little Kubota BX’s are no slouches.. I can’t even put into words how hard I have worked my tractor on a daily basis.. many jobs I brought it to last summer were boarderline abuse for the poor machine but I did what I had to do cuz that’s all I had at the time.. not to mention i can be a little hard on it cuz I enjoy working it hard lol. But I have done things with my bx that not many others have done, iv bulldozed over 1.5 archers of super super rough ground with it as well pushing over huge trees/stumps, you name it.. i constantly over loaded it lifting HUGE boulders and logs around on the front axle alone.. this machine takes it and laughs.. over-built is an understatement when it comes to this little machine and on top of all that I have my loader relief pressure cranked right up from the factory 1650psi to 2000psi.. this allows it to lift way more than it was ever “meant” to but it handles it just fine if your careful. Not sure if I’ll ever get rid of my bx as I will ALWAYS have a use for it.

Iv gotten a lot of those too man.. it’s just some bots trying to advertise for scum app they have built.. either that or it’s a scam.. just delete them that’s what I do
