Spinner is essential. I have them on every low speed steering wheel I own. The trouble is finding a high quality one. I bought a Kubota brand from Amazon and it was junk. Now I'm thinking it might have been a knock-off. Worked great and seemed good quality for about 3 weeks, then it picked up a sticky spot. I returned it. A few days later I happened to be at a John Deere dealer and they had two spinner knobs on the rack. The "Premium" knob seemed really good quality, like it actually has a bearing under the knob. Anyway, I now have a John Deere spinner knob on a Kubota tractor. Amazing.

thanks for the video. I have watched several of yours, and appreciate your service to the church. Although I have been tractoring for years, I still had a lot to learn, Like you, I watched what others have done, and learned from others. I am recording my mods so that maybe some other guy can see what I did, make it better, and share with others. Enjoy retirement: every week is six Saturdays and a Sunday.

Great video. I just got a massey Ferguson gc1705 and I'm starting to add a few things. I like the d rings you put on the frame for tying down, I think I'm going to use that idea.

Love what you have done. I recently purchased a new Kubota L2501. I opted for the ag tires and had the wheels set out to their widest point and had 1 inch wheel spacers installed by the dealer. This made my rear wheel width just inside of the standard 66 in bucket so I opted for the next bigger size as I will not be moving any dirt or rock or other heavy materials with this tractor. I have a skid steer and three other loader tractor that can lift much heavier loads than this Kubota and I would strongly discourage anyone from going with anything other than what the manufacturer offers for these smaller tractors as they can easily lift loads beyond what the tractor is capable of handling. My tractor will be used for plowing snow, grading my driveway, and working in the woods gathering up fire wood, clearing brush, and some lighter mowing work where I can't get the larger tractors into as well. I have added golf cart mirrors, and a steering wheel spinner, and mounted a much larger tool box in place of the factory one. Always on the look out for more ideas on what to do with the new tractor. Thanks for what you have shared.

Thanks Barbara for watching and sharing comments..Since I published this video I have also added golf cart mirrors and changes to the tool box. I plan on refurbishing some attachments and will post videos on that project.

You might want to put a brush bar on top of your bucket. I took a pice of mobile home frame cut triangles out on each end so it would fold down just past the bucket mounts, put a 2” receiver in the center to move empty trailers , 2 d rings on top edges for pull straps, 2 weld on hooks for chains, then cut round holes and a few bar strips out so I had good view. Has saved hoses and my hood.

Great video of the mods you have done. My only suggestion is that you might add mirrors on each side so you don't have to turn around to see while backing up. You can get rather inexpensive golf cart mirrors. I attached mine to the fixed arm support of the bucket. You can monitor things behind you while working. I especially like it for my bush hog as I can see what is happening behind me. I will use many of your suggestion. Thanks again, Lloyd

Thanks Lloyd for watching and since posting this video a couple of months, I have added mirrors and you are right, they work great for backing up and seeing what is going on behind me...I plan on doing another video on the updates I have made since my earlier video. Thanks again for watching

I would love to try development on a Kubota, maybe after I get a second one do a couple things to the other one and see what I can accomplish with porting and polishing and custom pistons, not make it crazy but see what's achievable, what kind of impact is made, maybe polish some internals and do that stuff if one ever has to be cracked open after the warranty ends.

I’d get a pool noodle and split it length ways so it slips over your piranha blade when in storage. It will keep your blade protected as well as your shins and hands from getting cut

One more thing... I've seen videos where guys like to do "ditch lights" on the lower front of the frame. Paul Short fabricated his own and other guys have purchased small LED lamps with stainless steel brackets and mounted them to the pre-drilled holes (like you did with your "D rings"). I don't like those. They are fine if you are mowing but if you have the bucket on, or a snowblower, or blade, etc. those lights just shine directly on the back of the attachment and reflect backward nearly blinding the operator...or at least making it difficult to see. Instead, I bought the Kubota fender-mounted work lights. They plug right in to the existing harness. They are adjustable and can be turned on/off individually. They are form-fitted for the fender on your tractor. And since they are mounted on the fender they are at just the right height to light up either side of the tractor while working at night. They put the light in exactly the right place. And they are LED and match the lumens of the LED headlights I referred to in my other response. Very bright, throw off zero heat, and will last forever. Not sure of the part number or cost but your dealer should be able to tell you that. They come with instructions and template for installation. Just measure, drill a hole, attach to fender, and plug in. Simple.

Hi, There are two suggestions I can give you. First, I would put some black grip tape on the edges of the floorboards. Paul Short has a video on it somewhere but it is easy to do. Just run maybe 20" of tape, pop off the plastic rivets holding the floor mat on (just the edges), measure carefully and add the tape, then put the rivets back in (or get new rivets if you strip them). When you are getting on and off with wet feet (rain, snow, dewy grass, etc.) it makes it much safer. Next...and this is really cool...replace your standard bulbs with LED's. These are waaaayyyy brighter than the standard halogens and make evening/night/early morning work much easier and safer...especially if you are plowing/mowing/working near the road. I live in Wisconsin so we end up doing a lot of snowblowing either in the dark or during a snowstorm. So the LED's make things much, much brighter. This is also very easy. The headlight bulbs are simply daylight running light bulbs for cars and the other lights just pop out and replace. You don't need to add any resistors or modulators. Just change the bulbs. Simple. Here are the bulbs: Headlight (896 base): www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LZ4NOQN/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Hazard lights ( get the amber color) (2 sets): www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01JFH6TL2/ref=pd_sbs_263_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=R35F72SBYH4R9D6XTWPZ Taillights (get the red color): www.superbrightleds.com/moreinfo/miniature-wedge-base/921-led-bulb-19-smd-led-miniature-wedge-retrofit-car/1563/#/tab/Specifications Make sure you get the amber hazards and the red taillights. They make a HUGE difference. You'll be happy.

Chris Laswell you just solved that mysterious problem I had with my LEDs. It needs a 50w 6 ohm resistor in line with each bulb. I had what is called Rapid Flashing in my headlights. I’m ordering these resistors now. Thanks Chris.

This is really neat! I love the modifications. I am retired as well and have a JD 3046. Trying to figure out a tool box. The aluminum basket looks pretty good but sure is expensive. I love the lights you did. Gonna order the hooks as well. You might consider adding a small first aid kit. I added a plug where I can charge my phone. Go to tractorbynet and look at the tilt meters for sale, as well as cup holder options. I appreciate the video. Do more!

I really like the BXAttachments receiver hitch. I added it to my BX tractor so that I could pull a small size wagon around the yard. bxattachments.com/product/rear-receiver-hitch-and-tie-down/ I also really like the mower deck axles I found. They make it easy to work on the deck and to move it around my shed. www.moweraxle.com/tractorstands/kubotastands.html. I have Ken's hooks as well. I feel all three of these should come standard with the tractor. I also just added the Kubota bucket level indicator rod. I'm not sure which series its available for but it is an option on the BX80 series. I find it a lot easier to use than the level plate on the bucket.
