Appreciate the info. I am looking to upgrade next year from my older first lite bibs that are similar but noisy. They should use a clip like first lites suspenders. I'll be interested to see any update.

Nice, no BS review; it's spot on. I love the Proximity and Wind Pro stuff; Kuiu did their homework. This stuff is meant to be put on once you are stationary; I wonder how anyone could walk around in this at any temperature without creating a sauna? My feet are always cold; it's the only thing that gets cold on me. Once it happens, my hunt is over. LOL I started wearing light rubber slip-on Muck boots into the stand; once I get settled, I pull my boots and put my feet into Artic Shields and then put them into IceBreaker boot blankets; if it is in the teens, I will throw in a couple hand warmers. My feet rarely, if ever, get cold now.

Thanks! I ordered this set after your first video. I second the suspenders clips. The stitching on the loops could be heavier too imo. A few other things from my experience: I ordered my regular pant size but had to return and go one size up. Not enough room for any layering under for me. Make sure you measure your belly area for sizing as the bibs go above the waist. Quality seems good. I’m unsure about a few of the zippers, the side leg zippers on the bibs could be a heavier duty imo. No problems yet though. The suit isn’t quite as warm as I expected. I ordered some heavier base layers and am also wearing some fleece mid layers to stay warm at or under the mid 30’s. I do tend to get cold fairly easy so take that into consideration. The middle and lower back need more insulation I think. Wind protection could be better as well. Would benefit from a mid layer with wind protection on windy days. Definitely quiet enough for close up archery hunting. This was a huge deal for me and the reason I went with this instead of Forloh (I really wanted USA made). That Forloh stuff is too noisy for me though. Overal I’ll keep the suit. It’s good quality stuff. I get the whole layering craze, but man for the money I’d like a suit to be warmer and more wind proof on its own.

Same thing here Hunting central indiana Think I’ve figured out my layering finally but the suspended clips keep coming undone as I ascend the tree in my saddle. My wife sews for TX5 Custom Gear so I could have her put some gates clips on, but I’d like to see them sent out with a viable fix too Other than that I love the gear! First year down the Kuiu rabbit hole !

This is a great review. I just wish they had the Proximity in stock in my color and size. First Lite has similar suspender retainers, but with a closing catch.

Sorry I should have added that I’m 5’10” and 180. Large jacket, 34” bibs. I wear 32/32 jeans. Also, I ordered the Windpro beanie with this set and that hat is absolute gold. Gonna grab the gaiter too.

You should try a keni non hood for under the coat. Use the keni when you walk out, then put this over it when you start to cool down.

For some saying the proximity wasnt quite warm enough. My legs were sweating on an easy hike in 0 degree weather, with only a base layer underneath. I wear alot of wool so would run a wool baselayer, followed by a wool sweater up top. Check weather wool if your interested in wool. By far the best in the business but very expensive.

Debating on this and the first lite cold weather bibs

Very late to the video but am just looking into upgrading my gear to Kuiu. How warm could this be? I hunt in northern Alberta where the winters get to -30 Celsius, so warmth is super super important for me 😅. Would this work overtop of some warm sweaters and a toque?

Good Vid, Brother. Did you have to upsize the pants? I wear 34/30 jean and they only have 34 and 36 that I could fit. Not wanting to wear a belt like yourself. Cheers

They need to do something about the axis size. It's you can't size up when you're actually a 3x. Not fat at all, 6'4 285lbs, my chest is an actual 53in chest. The keni fits perfect, but the axis won't go over it. That's the whole point why got it. Wild wet temp swings of 20f in the am to 35 and rain, to 28 and snow. I got the pants in a 38 and they're great. I have room for my sig if I wore them to town, but I don't. I didn't want a rain jacket to put over it because then I'd be I. The same boat as this guy. The keni with a rain jacket wouldn't be warm enough below 30 when you're still. The axis would have enough. Then I could put my down over it all if it's really cold. I like this prox line though.

Everyone in the outdoor sports community is having a chuckle, about those damn suspender buckles. They work better for a compression cinch on a whitewater dry bag, a sleeping bag, or backpack closure. Any situation where the buckle has constant pressure. On a pair of pants.....sit down, or bend over, and you might lose your pants when you stand up. WTF?

I love it but its not as warm as my sitka fanatic and its not even close the sitka blocks wind better as well the kuiu does good but the sitka 100% stops wind no matter how hard its blowing you can stand in a hurricane and not feel the wind. I use my kuiu for cold weather bow hunting and the sitka when its really cold

I liked the suit myself, Warm and very light weight for how warm it is but I had one big gripe that made me sell it off. The outer layer turns into like Velcro in the cold temps with any kind of moisture, light rain or snow. The riser of my bow froze to my pants when I was holding my bow. Went to pick it up when I had a deer coming by and i had to pry my bow away from the pants. Then the cam touched the jacket and would also stick like Velcro. That's a big issue for me in the big woods of Northern Wisconsin

Heated socks are a game changer

I don't have a problem with the suspenders comming lose like they did on you. Maybe it's the difference in our builds? I'm more of a skinny build. But so far I've never had mine come undone.

I picked up the Proximity pants and jacket, had very high hopes for it as I have purchased alot of clothes from them in the past and will say Kuiu is top notch in general. But for me the Proximity is a huge miss, yes it's quiet and pretty warm and lightweight is a bonus... but I couldn't believe that I went from my truck to my stand on very clear trails with very minimal brush and once I was settled in, in my stand I realized I had 3 tears a quarter sized in my left knee area and some forming small tears around the right calf area... that literally ruined my opening day morning sit. Ended up going home during lunch and changing to my Axis Hybrid pants for the evening sit. Very disappointing especially for it being a Kuiu item. I read on their site under the reviews 2 more people experienced the same issue. I contacted customer service and sent the pants back for a full refund... would love to see them re engineer them and make them more durable

How do they do with sticker’s?

You would think kuiu would have tested out these pants a little better...
