A playground for residents, Phnom Kulen or Kulen Mountain is a beautiful day out. The key attraction is the waterfalls at the topmost of Kulen Mountain and it’s also a great picnic spot; well set up in Cambodian style with hammocks and housings to keep you shaded from the sun.
The foundation of the antique Khmer realm, it is said that it was at Phnom Kulen that King Jayavarman II announced Cambodia’s independence from Java.

Very happy to see the local starting understand littering is bad for the environment. We’ve been there last year and hoping revisit again in the near future. Siem Reap needed more tourists attraction beside the Angkor Wat and Phnom Kulen is no exception.

Angkor Sharedtours yes the water is so clean and clear, if we are lucky we can get to swim or dip ourself into these holy water.

The water is very cold, especially during these time of month. Its a great picnic spot fuse with nature as well as the history behind these rocky mountain.

In the USA, the water is very cold. Is the water in Phnom Kulen warm enough to swim?

The weather here in Siem Reap is quite warm almost through out of the year, swimming in this holy water (local beliefs) is the most refreshing and fortunate to do. :)

The water is not too cold to swim, in-fact most of the local people who visiting the holy waterfall swim with their clothes on.

The water is very refreshing, not cold not warm. Most recommend time of year is during January to April (personal opinion).
