For a fast attacker, you stand still to limit where he will strike. When he strikes you match his speed and move the target a few inches and take control of him while he is attacking. The smaller the movement the better, making him miss while sticking close enough to neutralize him.

I developed techniques a few decades ago to introduce my opponents unexpectedly to a wall behind me. It worked really well. I tried to introduce it to my senior students, but I’m not sure they understood it. I also told them to use whatever is around as these Sensei’s have mentioned in this video. Be aware of your surroundings and use it to your advantage. If you get into a fight in a bar, fling your opponent into some bar stools. If he falls over one, you can make your escape. My first teacher got challenged seated in a bar (next door to the Dojo-many of our Dojo’s somehow ended up next to bars). He hit the guy with a reverse pound with his beer stein in his hand. Worked very well he said!

It's a great self defense techniques. So yup. Will practice it. So I don't have to hurt other people. Cus if you using muaythai, kick boxing or taekwondo you'll injured people. With this techniques you can stop someone trying to attack you without injuring them. Yes it's also important.

I'm always amused when I see comments saying Miyahira is a fake. I've been practicing long enough to know real joint locks when I see them, and he has them mastered, and I mean REALLY mastered.
@lYakuzal
@lYakuzal 2 жыл бұрын
People who say he's fake don't understand martial arts, and this is coming from someone who trains in Muay Thai and Boxing. Not all martial arts have an emphasis on fighting the opponent. Miyahira's martial arts is more based on the approach of incapacitating aggressors. Hell, the past videos that showcase him in this channel shows you that his mindset is all about subduing attackers without having to fight them. This is great for situations like if a burglar has snuck into your house or defending against someone who suddenly grabs you up close. In reality, you'll never know if the enemy has a concealed weapon, so it's best you don't try to fight him. You have to use your smarts and surprise the enemy.
@johndough8115
@johndough8115 2 жыл бұрын
@@lYakuzal Actually, he has also shown crippling hits (albeit lightly..) such as the brutal elbow point strike in the end of the video. The thing is, Chi-Na (Chinese grappling), is a function of both Range, and Choice to be "Nice". If he were pit against 3 to 5 serious attackers, and some of them might have weapons... he likely would not use Chi Na... and would opt for using crippling and lethal strikes, instead of simply using grappling methods. Hes kind of being "Humble", and "Polite", trying not reveal how much more advanced and skilled he is... compared to the JKD visitor. I can pretty much tell this man has excellent short range power... and when combined into finger strike to precise areas... you get real Dim Mak. Unlike the many frauds that know the points... but lack the Explosive power (Fajing) to be able to do the real damaging effects. There is are two vids of explosive power being used with a hammerfist. Search "Glen Levy fajing hammerfist". After that, you can search for user LilyLily whos channel is dedicated to Dim Mak. Some of these vids are questionable... but a few of them are 100% real... and will frighten you, when you see the results. I learned and fully mastered Fajing (Fahh Jing)... and was easily able to KO several different fighters off my mostly extended lead guard hand. Less that 6" distance, vertical fist to their foreheads... and never used anywhere near 20% of what I was capable of delivering. I also used it when applying a mild 10% level arm deflection... which almost shattered an MMA fighters wristbone. It swelled up nearly double in size in about an hours time, and he was in great pains for many days to follow. If you search well, you can find vids of a grandmaster of Tai Chi: "Chen Xioawang Fajing". In one vid at a school gymnasium demonstration.... when he issues fajing, watch his legs closely.. as they shake violently from the excess power surging. No boxers strikes, can cause such a reaction. If he decides to use this on someone, with even a Fraction of his output... they will be carried away in a body bag. I read that he once did a zero inch demo... where he started out touching the OP.. and when he twitched.. he had generated too much power.. and accidentally broke the fighter ribs. This is why many of these guys do not do striking demonstrations. At that level of expression, its very difficult to keep the power levels in a safe range. Its like trying to control how much force Expl0sives will dish out. One too many sticks... and there is a pile of rubble and a huge crater in the ground.
@johndough8115
@johndough8115 2 жыл бұрын
Its not just that hes mastered Joint Locking / Chi-Na... but more importantly, he has mastered the skills to be able to get to a point where he can actually get hold of the OP, safely.. quickly.. and effectively. Its one thing to know how to do a static partner drill application. But its a whole other level.. to be able to intercept the OPs live strikes.. and then go right into a capture and lock. Then even further, is to be able to flow with the OP... no matter which way the OP tries to escape. Changing the very lock type... live... as the OP is changing vectors / tactics... and or other limb attacks. Its very clear that this man is no joke. Extremely clean / flawless techniques, full body-mass unity.. with perfect precision and timings, and heavy power output capabilities were also also shown.

@lYakuzal
@lYakuzal 2 жыл бұрын
@@johndough8115 He's quite skilled in his arts indeed. But I'm more impressed by his wisdom and intellect. Miyahira knows that there are certain levels of fighters that he cannot fight. This isn't because he's not skilled enough, but only because he doesn't have the knowledge in how to deal with the tactics that professional fighters do, and he's well aware of what they are capable of. It just shows how genuine Miyahira is as a martial artist. I've seen too many chinese martial artist practitioners that criticize professional fighters these days and think they can beat them, but they've never sparred a professional fighter in their life.
@aikibaby
@aikibaby 2 жыл бұрын
Throwing your keys at a guy says “Take my car,” And it’s a good prediction of how the encounter will end. And should you get a chance to get out of the fight, you’ll probably lose it trying to find your keys. If you make a ninja claw by putting your keys between your fingers, you’ll probably cut your fingers up and still lose your keys. Advancing at the threat, you become the attacker, extending yourself into danger. Miyahira sensei lets them come to him and he is the danger to them. Traditional Chinese martial art teaches, “I would rather welcome the enemy two steps into my territory than to advance one step into his.” The old ways require more careful study but they reach unimaginable depths, far beyond what can be shown. Anything will do for the man who doesn’t understand himself, but you must understand yourself to achieve kung fu.
