Go figure, I guess they had to use something since a mantis is silent.). Also the co-choreographers are Hsu Chung Hsin and Kao Hsu Liang (aka Blackie Ko because he was dark skinned for a Chinese person, due to his Yushan Island heritage. SMH) the same team that brought us A NOTORIOUS EX-MONK better known as SHAOLIN EX-MONK on DVD and RENEGADE MONK on video tape. Hsu played the Monk and Kao played Chow Ni Chen in that film respectively. Lastly, Kao Hsu Liang doubled for Don Wang Tao in SNAKEY KNIFE FIGHT AGAINST MANTIS (also a more accurate title, since no one is using the Eagle's Claw technique in the film), performing all of his acrobatics. As Don was not capable of performing those stunts. Kao otherwise doesn't appear in the film, but Hsu has a Cameo role as the acrobatic fugitive who is killed by Wang's Cat's Claws on the beach in the beginning of the film. I've been searching for a widescreen version like this one for years! What I wouldn't give to have this on Blu Ray or DVD!
