"Did I ever tell you of an old friend of Master Oogway? The two once led fierce armies into battle, and were considered brothers in arms. One day however, they were ambushed, leaving Oogway badly wounded. Kai, his closest friend at the time, searched endlessly for help, until they came across a village of pandas, high in the mountains. Using the power of Chi, these pandas helped heal Oogway and even taught him how to give Chi. But Kai, blinded by the promise of such power, wanted it for himself. He sought what could be given could also be taken. His following battle against Oogway, who had to stop him, shook The Earth, until he was banished to The Spirit Realm. Five long centuries pass.. many kung-fu masters who pass on would wind up in The Spirit Realm, where Kai would steal their chi.. Oogway hadn't truly stopped him, he was only delaying the inevitable.. Eventually, the two would have their rematch, with Kai finally winning and taking his chi. However, it was never Master Oogway's destiny to stop him. He had set another on that path.. So Kai would find him.. and take his chi too. Using the power of Oogway's chi, he finally returned to The Mortal Realm. Upon arrival though, he was met with something unforeseen and angering. He seemed to have been forgotten by history, as if Oogway had erased his memory from China. No matter what happened, Kai's goal remained the same. Take the chi of the pandas and any of Oogway's students, for the sake of furthering his already impressive power. And so his rampage begun. He was quite efficient at baiting the kung-fu masters and fighting them, even taking the chi of four out of The Furious Five, as well as their master Shifu. Kai did not take kindly to his memory being erased, so he returned the favour by destroying The Jade Palace, a major piece of Oogway's life. Now all that was left was a tigress and The Pandas.. At first glance, it seemed as The Pandas had the upper hand, as his jade zombies were disorientated and attacked, which affected Kai through his visions. He pulled out his triumph card, an immunity to being banished to The Spirit Realm. He was banished centuries ago, why would it work again? However, he underestimated two things..While the panda destined to defeat him could not send him there, he could take him there. But what truly helped him end Kai The Collector's conquest was the very thing Oogway, his brother in arms, was taught by the pandas all those years ago.. The gift of chi.. Kai had gotten what he always wanted, all the chi he could ever desire, but he found out too late that his greed was taking its toll, on both his body and his spirit..."

This penetrates my Chi.. I named one of my cats 'Kai' because when I looked into his eyes for the first time, this theme kept playing inside my head. And here I am finding an awesome remake of the legendary theme song. ❤
