I usually do not leave comments, but I wanted to tell you that for the past year you delighted my recently late grandmother with this series and the one before it. She never gamed, but she enjoyed your adventures, your builds, and always looked forward to your next episode. I will always be a bit sad to not hear her exclaim "Help! Murder!" when you unexpectedly find yourself down a hole in the ground. Thank you for giving her such joy, laughter, and something special for us to bond over.

You could probably add a slab or slightly thinner chiseled step in front of the tables to give you a slightly better angle on the butterflies. Also for cheese, I found out that you can process cheese in multiples of 20 as well - I don't like it because it leaves you with a lot of cottage cheese left over (15 liters from a 40-liter barrel) but you can do it if you enjoy stuffing your face with 15 liters of cottage cheese after you make one cheese wheel.

Yeah maybe a little stepping stool to see the butterflies would help... or Tyron could just give me what I want! ;P As for cheese, yeah, you can do it in smaller quantities, but the numbers line up for much easier management if you just start with a full barrel of milk!

I played my first world for almost 200 hours and failed to find any halite. Still in the copper age in my new world, I was delighted to find a deposit sitting out in the open in a shallow cave... and then absolutely gobsmacked when I found another practically in my backyard.

Haha yeah, Vintage Story be like that sometimes! For the record, we're actually over 200 hours at this point (not by much). Salt isn't really necessary to play the game; it's more of a luxury and for access to interesting but not vital systems and options.

One little trick for halite. Fine tuned propick search, basing on the fact that the readings come for the first block of the 3 in the density search. It is not 100%, but helps. You go down at the surface level density maximum, being at least 20%. Go down as much as the stability allows, or at least to the border of igneous and metamorph, passing through the sedimentary. If no sedimentary - no halite. Bauxite is metamorph btw. Then stand still on the same place and take 4 different probes (12 total blocks broken) starting each time to the other direction n/s/e/w. Those little promille number changes show you the direction to the dome.

There is a mod for keeping butterflies alive after you catch them, you can release them and they won’t despawn. I seen people make little butterfly greenhouse with them in it. Don’t know if that would be something that would interest you.

Once that lighting glitch is fixed chisels will be so much more powerful than they already are. The more I play with chisels the more I wonder why that other block game doesn't have them without mods. Haha
@Kurazarrh
@Kurazarrh 11 ай бұрын
Someone actually pointed out to me that this is an issue specific to having used the ChiselTools pantograph. If you use a regular chisel and just remove+add a single voxel to each block that you copied, it'll fix the lighting (for that block). So you need to do it to every copied block, but once you're done, it looks better! I'll be doing that here in a couple episodes!

To be fair, this was more just perseverance. If you search for salt long enough, eventually you WILL find it. In the first season, I absolutely 100% just stumbled across it because it was visible from the surface. This salt find actually represented a good chunk of a real-life day of adventuring!

Love your content and all of your series. I have to say salt is one of the hardest things for me to find in Vintage Story. Last game I spent at least 15 in game hours looking for it. Finally as I was giving up hope I see an enormous pinkish colored cliff face in the setting sun. More Salt then you would ever need. First time I preserved meat in barrel with Salt I was amazed how long it was preserved for 9 years or so from memory. I have never found it with the pro pick but have come across it in caves.
@Kurazarrh
@Kurazarrh 11 ай бұрын
Thank you! Yeah salt is tricky to find, but at least it's not actually necessary to play the game outside of some luxury uses. Caving in areas with sedimentary layers is definitely a way to stumble across it!

I was lucky enough to find it well above ground. So you will find it above ground on cliffs. Pretty sure you said it was found between sedimentary and igneous rock layers.

You can use their agro for your own advantage though. Not in this case of Kura's pens being too tight. If you have the stables roughly 8*8, with 2 blocks high fences, you can sit on top of the fences and try to milk all your females. Once failed they will agro on you and stand just under you not being able to harm. You can keep sitting on the fence and try again and again when the sheep calms down and starts to move away. So you don't chase them, they chase you - to be milked when the luck smiles.

You can't really do 25 liters of cheese in vanilla. The recipe to make cottage cheese needs 1 salt per 10 liters of curdled milk, so 25 liters will not work.
