Kurt Angle is a 14-time professional wrestling world champion, with titles collected in WWE, TNA, and Japan. He is in both the WWE and TNA/Impact Hall of Fames, a two-time NCAA Division 1 National Champion, and has also won a gold medal in freestyle wrestling at the 1996 Summer Games with, as he likes to say, ‘a broken freaking neck.’ At every stop in his career, Angle has reached the top of the mountain, and now he’s taking his Three I’s; Intensity, Intelligence, and Integrity, to the podcast world as he joins host Paul Bromwell to take a look back at some of the matches, feuds and moments that turned an Olympic gold medalist into one of the greatest sports entertainers of all time. He's honestly got everything. I don't think people realise he's got some legit credentials too: represented Scotland at the Commonwealth Games in wrestling, national Greco-Roman champ, black belt in a martial art if I remember correctly too. Throw in he's a genuine musician with insane creativity, along with everything else you've said: you couldn't create a wrestler with more positives on paper!

WWE probably would've wanted full ownership on whatever songs Hendry made if he did sign with them, which would be a very complicated matter in terms of authorship royalties/credits.

Absolutely. Especially since his songs are actually parodies of other songs, with customised lyrics. Pretty much what Weird Al is doing. I can't even begin to imagine what kind of legal nightmare you can get into as a corporation just trying to score the rights to some of these songs to be used as part of a wrestling promo.

@@ChannelyChannel That's generally true, but copyright laws are iffy and they usually favour rights holders. Fair use is a very murky and loosely defined legal term and it often gets completely discarded in such cases. Big corporations (like WWE) would probably want all the bases covered, leaving nothing to chance.

Funny thing is I only recently saw Hendry on NXT and TNA. Didn't even know he was a singer but told my brother he reminded me of Elias because of how his gimmick stood out. Guy should be a huge star and has unlimited potential.

Fun fact: Kurt Angle's match with Joe Hendry is a second shorter than his match with Rey Mysterio at SummerSlam 2002 Personally, Kurt Angle had every right to make as much money and not wrestle too long. A) He can have great matches no matter the length B) When you've done everything in the business and want to be strategic about your time in the ring towards the end of your career, why can't you?

I like both, Elias did it on the big stage and was very over, I don’t know if Joe hendry will ever get that chance, if they would let him use the parody music gimmick in wwe, but it truly is a great gimmick
