Sting was supposed to block that punch with a bat at 22:45 but failed. Kurt was in shock for a few seconds because he realised that it busted out Sting's face for real and yet Sting continued the match like nothing happened. A true proffesional, fellas.

11 years prior, Kurt Angle won’t the Olympic gold medal. 10 years prior, Sting won the WCW World Heavyweight Champion after facing Hulk Hogan at Starrcade. A year later, the Main Event Mafia was born. Whether it was WWE, WCW or TNA, 1985 - 2009 were the best years to watch wrestling. After that, wrestling was never the same again.

May have been a bit of a receipt from Sting? Though it looked like Sting may have been at fault for botching the bat shot from Angle, where the announcers said that Sting blocked the bat shot from Angle, it actually hit him square in the nose. That's why Sting was bleeding towards the end of the match. I'm not sure though, because it kinda looks like Angle bladed after Sting hit him with the bat, while Sting was taking out Nash.

Kurt did go on record as to saying from his last run in WWE 2006 to around 2012 or so he was pilled out of his mind majority of the time due to personal issues at home and to numb the pain of his neck problems. He lived and still lives in constant pain. Before Kurt retired at Wrestlemania, it was said that he was in way worse shape than The Undertaker.

I remember that match well. I was there. Ringside and was over near the entrance. That was a great match in my opinion!😊👍

Now this was a great match. The build up, the commentary, the crowd, the flow and complimentary in-ring styles. This is wrestling.

Even though Sting won his first TNA World Heavyweight Championship that night, he would lose it a couple days later. Nevertheless, this TNA World Heavyweight Championship match between Sting & Kurt Angle at the 2007 edition of Bound for Glory won the TNA Match of the Year.
