Cobain was the epitome of the ultimate middle finger to MTV. Not to mention Kurt hated being told what to do by people he didn't know or agree with... Loved it. A prime example is when he was set to perform the hit song "Smells like teen Spirit" but during the time MTV wanted him to lip sync! Kurt would not have that! Which is why he performed his own "shred video." Smells like teen Spirit, can't deny great song. Kurt purposefully butchered that song basically. It was funny as hell and extremely satisfying. Not to mention being the biggest metaphorical middle finger to MTV.... History. Makes you wonder if he was worth more alive than dead....

Not really. He was still really cognizant and aware of how his actions helped his bands success. He was more calculating than he lead on. He was a super hardworking, intelligent, and sensitive man and full of contradictions.
