i was in the last concert in switzerland 2 weeks before he did what he did. and i will never forget his last sentence on stage that day (we were cheering AF, because it was god damn nirvana) he only looked at us and said "i wish i could be as happy as you are"... changed my life.

Man, I was the biggest Nirvana fan throughout high school. Learned their songs on guitar, watched every interview, read every book...I idolized Kurt. I fell out such extreme love with 'em quite a while back (still really enjoy all their albums though) and it's such a trip coming back to interviews and stuff as a 26 year old man now. Kurt was always this cool older person to me, and now seeing him my age or younger in interviews...it's a trip.

I was 13 when they blew up. Getting to see the band's music videos or in interviews on TV was exciting. It was usually on MTV or The Box for me in Indiana or in magazines. I discovered Nirvana when most of the world did, in 1991 when Nevermind came out. The very first thing that hit me when hearing their music was Dave's heavy hitting drums then Kurt's heavy guitar and howling voice. After I heard the first few radio songs I purchased Nevermind and when I was done listening I was hooked. I went out to a couple local record shops and discovered they had a previous album Bleach. After hearing bleach I then picked up every bootleg, single and import I could find on cassette, vinyl and CD. I bought every album they released after Nevermind and bought stuff like the 24k CD's. Growing up as a teen in that era was amazing but the sad day in 1994 was a day I will never forget. Working on my very first car in my dad's garage blaring X103 when the music suddenly cut and the DJ came on saying there had been a body found in the green room of Kurt Cobain's home in Washington. After being glued to the radio and them confirming it was indeed Cobain I sat down on the concrete floor next to my car and wept. That's the day music died for many of us rebellious, angry teens of the early to mid 90's.

When _Nevermind_ came out I was still 14 years old. Went to see them live when I was 16. And remember learning about Kurt Cobain's death about a month after my 17th birthday on April 5th, 1993 while traveling on a train towards Rome (ITALY), the same city where he had just been hospitalized from March 2nd to March 9th of that same year. It all became surreal. The face of the last music and generation revolution in history - _Grunge_ - had left us just like all those great legends before him.

Yeah, I was about the same age. When I was young, black and white films seemed to be from a very very long time ago, I'm wondering if kids now have the same feeling about these VHS tapes. For us our reference was before and after electricity, I'm guessing for them now it's probably before and after Internet, right? It is true that before Internet everything was different... But I feel like not that long ago I was in a rental store trying to find a good NES game to rent while listening at my cassette of MC Hammer with my yellow walkman! lol

@@donnajackson2907 exactly. In fact, according to his closest friends and people he was creating Art with, he was doing very well mentally and physically, trying to stay sober and be present for his daughter and Art. There are many direct quotes supporting this.

He was not in a dark mood before he was murdered. He was sick of CL & wanting a divorce so trying to run from her. But he had plans for the future! He was too good for this world! But I know he is loved & missed by many! He was hilarious though!

Everyone who thinks of Kurt as a depressed, whinging, whiney, mopey guy needs to see videos like this. Don't judge a character by the media and word of mouth. Learn about that person enough to build your own opinion

A lot of the edgelord persona was partially a pose of the times and partially all the pain coming out of him. He was in large psychological pain during a lot of his life. Depression and all of that. I can relate to it all, unfortunately.

@@djcease1996 That is not true even though I'm sure there are a lot of depressed people out there barely scraping by who haven't been diagnosed and all people experience sadness. But real depression is a darkness and pain I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy and fortunately only a small percentage of people get it bad.

That guy used dry humor very well. In all of these clips, this is comedic stuff. If you think its moody downer, you are very bland and cannot comprehend the sphere Cobain was working within. Lets just say he is funny as hell and you dont get it.
