New Body and Soul has got to be one of the greatest vocal performances ever to happen...and Hobgood's solo is insane

I was there!! :-D Took a bus from Toronto (left the T.O Jazz festival) and traveled 5(?) hours to witness this awesome performance.

Kurt elling é um dos melhores cantores de jazz de todos os tempos, ele é um amante da música brasileira , sua versão de Luiza encheria tom Jobim de orgulho 🎤🎹👏🎼🎵

I've been following KE for awhile now. Attended several live performances in NYC and a Masterclass . Wish LH still collaborated with KE for spontaneous combustion ! MF "Night Moves"/LR "This Masquerade" brilliant !

Sorry but Kurt Elling is nothing like Sinatra. Elling is neither better or worse - why compare?. No one, not even the great Tony Bennet has a vocal range, rubato or legato like Elling. Fabulous. Thank you. There is genius around still. :-)

Worth noting that there perhaps isn't an Elling without there first being a Sinatra.

am I mistaken or did Kurt base his solo on Body and Soul on Dexter Gordon's solo of that song?...The fact that he mentioned his name at the very end made me suspicious....this performance by Elling and his blokes is a very precious moment in jazz

The lyric was from a poem (google the lyrics and it will pop up). But melody-wise I believe it is KE's original
