How many notes per string does he play on the scales ?
@ianbrandao8899
@ianbrandao8899 4 жыл бұрын
Hard to say man, it's all improvised, sometimes it comes in various ways. But i think a 3 note per string is a standard in his playing
@reinekefuchs267
@reinekefuchs267 Жыл бұрын
three and sometimes two per string, when he is playing a diatonic scale in one position. Example of his ionian major scale in A fingering in first position from low to high E: (4) 5 7 4 5 7 4 6 7 4 6 7 5 7 4 5 (7)

Kurt is a great player, for sure, but it is interesting that he talks about exercises a lot. And for me, actually, his playing, though impressive, ioften feels mechanical. But it's just me.

this tone is easy to come by with a cheap oscillating fan. Plop it right down in front of the speaker. Get a 3-speed and rotating head for more versatility.

All but one of the songs are jazz standards from the 50s or earlier, his playing on them is pretty straight-ahead and the only original is a pretty traditional-sounding ballad. Did you comment on the right video?
