Kushala Daora is one of my favourite monsters in the entire series. Glad they reworked his fighting style and gave him an even better theme.

Rise’s ost is stellar. I knew the game would be fun but the new composer had me worried since World’s score was excellence. Glad that it’s equally if not better here. Jesus.

His new moves in Sunbreak got me acting giddy! He’s still so much fun!

I like how people forget about poison weapons for pre world kushala or clutch claw spam on that head or rocksteady mantle for world kushala. Also in 4u if you repel him enough you get to decimate it's ass with cannons it is glorious.

Kushala Daora’s theme has been basically the same for the past 15 years since it’s debut in Monster Hunter 2. Monster Hunter 4 had a unique rendition of the theme and is a personal favorite of mine, and world cleaned it up. This time however like so many other monsters it feels brand new, a brand new theme that took elements of the original and mixed everything up into a beautiful yet powerful theme. It emphasizes Kushala’s mastery of the wind and its steely exterior. Once again the theme fits perfectly to the Monster in Rise.

Is it just me or does this fight feel like I’m fighting rusted kushala more than regular kushala, because I get that feeling. He feels like a refined and heavily polished rusted.

Kushala are almost benevolent Elder Dragons. Despite creating gales, they often control this ability and are prone to choosing to assist those it perceives to be in trouble out of a difficult situation. The first instance we see of this is when it obliterates a Blagonga that was really roughing up a group of hunters, then we see it again when it saves a felyne from marauding baggi, and finally it show up once more to face Allmother Narwa when it's shown to not have any territory habits or meaningless vendettas against other monsters. It's honestly a shame the guild's mindset is "kill on sight". Perhaps this is why when I found a Kushala egg and hatched it in Stories 2, I openly wept.

*World and before* Kushala: C'mon! HIT ME! HAHAHA! Hunter: I would if you'd LET ME! *Rise* Kushala: DODGE!!! Hunter: What? (Gets bodied)

Its new theme sounds a bit like a horror flick, like it's really out to get you 😳

New hunters: "What's this music?" Veterans: "Oh no..."

The best version of this fight, coupled with the (in my opinion) best version of his theme. They really did Kushala well here.

After hearing this theme many times and comparing it to the World version, I have to say I think that both themes are great and represent Kushala in two different ways. World's version was very bombastic and energetic, which represents the powerful and raging winds from Kushala, as if you're fighting a tempest. Rise's version in contrast opts for a more gloomy, chilling and creepy tone, representing the cold winds and ice, as you're not facing against a raging tempest, but an icy storm. The same could also be applied for Teostra, where its original and World theme were bombastic and military-esque, representing Teo's power while Rise opts for a middle-eastern twist and chooses to showcase Teo's status as a king and gives him sort of a "prestige" vibe. All are fantastic imo.

I really like this version of Kushala´s theme! and the fact that the fight it´s not annoying anymore! and I like how he saved that felyne in his intro haha!

I never liked his theme from world. It felt to bland to me ontop of a really obnoxious fight. Then comes Rise with a much better fight (he stays on the ground! No lingering whirlwinds!), and a theme I actually enjoy! It just sounds so mysterious here.

Just one word, very, very beautiful.

1:34 makes me imagine Kushala engulfing you with a blizzard in locations with snow, then either hiding in it to surprise attack you, or using it to distract you while it runs off from the fight to catch its breath.

I feel like with MH World's and MH Rise's version of the Kushala theme are a successful split of his original theme. 1. Monster Hunter world's theme sounds more Regal, elegant, dangerous. 2. Monster Hunter Rise's theme sounds mysterious, forlorn, and freakin scary

It seems shedding its skin in the hoarfrost reach in Iceborne has finally made Kushala less tedious to fight

Forever will the storm be my favourite elder dragon.

I love how it basically takes the original theme and makes it into a more pleasant for ears melody. It may not be as chaotic but I think this is my favorite Kushala theme out of all of them because you can hear each part of a stormy weather without hurting the music itself (nothing against the other themes, I only think that World overdoes it way too much and it becomes a mess that hard to listen to, and with how bad she is in that game to fight, I am happy that they re-did her theme) Usually I say that Rise doesnt have enough power but in case of Kushala and Nargacuga out of older monsters they did a really nice job at making them different and still fitting at the same time. Also this theme is sad and beautiful just like Kushala as acording to story of MHdos, she was hunted so much that they made buildings of their metal skin. It's almost ironic how she still lives on so many continents now while the ancient race that hunted her down is now remembered only by ancient ruins and old wall drawings. Nature is scary and it will preserve.

I fought Kushala in Rise for the first time today, and along with the music being amazing, he only left the ground ONCE. :D

While yes, the fight is much better now, i feel wind pressure was nerfed so much its mostly irrelevant now.

i actually never really minded kushala much and ive always enjoyed him, but like i think hes fun in rise too
