Om hreem kushmandaya jagatprasootyai Namaha. This is the powerful mantra recited on the 4th day where devotees worship Goddess Kushmanda the third form of Goddess Durga. Devotees offer Malpua, a sweet dish, as bhog (offering), or milk which can also be offered as a bhog to Mata. The color associated with this day is orange, symbolizing energy and enthusiasm.
Devotees pray to Ma Kushmanda for improving their health and bestow wealth and strength to face obstacles. Goddess Kushmanda is also known as Ashtabhuja Devi, as she has eight hands. It is believed that all the power to bestow Siddhis and Niddhis (or power and treasures) are located in her Jap Mala. The ancient Hindu texts known as the puranas, say that Ma Kushmanda created the whole universe, also called Brahmanda (ब्रह्माण्ड), by just flashing little bit of her smile, such is her marvellous power. Mata’s name, which is a Sanskrit name, is also very fascinating as if you look at its composition, one can see that Ku means "a little", Ushma means "warmth" or "energy" and Anda means "cosmic egg".[Ma Kushmanda has the power to live in the core of Sun and it is believed that it is Her luminosity which in fact gives the Sun its brightness.
