Disney Quick Service Dining Plan Full Review | Did We Actually Save Money!?

In this video we are going to give you our Disney Quick Service Dining Plan review. On our recent trip to Disney World we used the Disney Quick Service Dining Plan for the very first time.
We will walk you through everything we ate on our trip including pricing and what dining credits we used in order to see if we actually saved money or not. Hopefully this will help you with Disney vacation planning and budgeting for your future Disney World Vacations to decide if the Disney Quick Service Dining Plan is right for you! Enjoy!
What is included per person, per night of your stay:
2 Quick Service Meal Credits
2 Snack Credits
1 Disney Refillable Drink Mug
Pricing Overview:
Day 1 Total: $52.43 = 2 Meal Credits/1 Snack Credit
Day 2 Total: $114.74 = 3 Meal Credits/10 Snack Credits/Some Cash
Day 3 Total: $118.40 = 3 Meal Credits/5 Snack Credits/Some Cash
Day 4 Total: $130.57 = 3 Meal Credits/Cash
Day 5 Total: $128.94 = 2 Meal Credits/Cash
Grand Total (if we had paid everything in Cash) = $545.08
Actual Total We Paid: $422.77 (quick service dining plan) + $178.53 out of pocket = $601.30
Money Lost = $56.22

Just so you know you can get the cast member at the front desk of your Disney resort to convert 1QS credit to 3 snack credit. Then you do not have to use 3 snack credits at one time.

I enjoyed this so much. My husband and younger daughter are meal people. My older daughter and I are snack people. We always get the regular meal plan. We go to Disney to eat because of food allergies 😂. We had some leftover snacks and we grabbed the great allergy friendly snacks and brought them home. It’s always worked for us but if we were going without the meal people, it probably wouldn’t

A good tip for next time is NEVER use a snack credit for anything that is under $5.00 always try to use the snack credit for big price items spend your cash on anything under $5.

Good video! Other than DFB, you’re the first channel that showed numbers😃. I’ve been going to WDW for along time, and on my last trip I used the standard DDP because of a big family trip in January (research). I broke even vs my usual out of pocket without stuffing my face every day or having more “adult beverages” than normal 😅. Yes - do your research and know your family!

Yes! That was my big thing was that it was hard to find actual numbers from people. That’s when I knew I really wanted to do this video! Knowing how your family eats is definitely the biggest thing in knowing on if it’s worth it or not. Thank you so much for watching!

Good insight on the Disney Dining Plan! The Quick Service dining plan is included in our resort package for our upcoming trip. If the dining plan wasn't included in our stay, then we definitely wouldn't have gotten it because it wouldn't have been worth it for us. We are excited though to have the plan to try out meals and snacks that we probably wouldn't have bought without it! Thanks so much for sharing - really great info! :)

Verrrry interesting. Sam and I rarely share meals because....FOOD 😋 which I think is why it probably works better for us. That being said, we did run out of snack credits pretty quick at the f&g fest! Great video, y’all!

Oh man! All the math! lol. Food can be expensive at Disney and it's nice to be able to ignore that, although with the Regular or Deluxe if you really eat the expensive meals your tips are going to be a lot too. We have it this time because it was free as part of our pkg. and our daughter was going crazy trying to plan all the meals to make sure we got full value for it. I finally just said we need to eat what we like and only as much as we want and not worry about it. It did really show us though that we don't normally spend near that out of pocket. So glad I asked you and watched your video, didn’t get the dining plan because I’m a big snack person so I feel much better about not getting it. Are all churros $7? Or was that because it was chocolate and Star Wars? Also, have you done a video mentioning the target hack previously? I’ve heard people mention this before. Thanks!

I think normal churros are a little cheaper. It may have just been that expensive since it was a Star Wars one. I know I’ve mentioned the target hack, but I don’t think I’ve done a dedicated a dedicated video about it. Basically you can buy Disney gift cards with your target red card (I encourage debit, not credit) and you can get 5% off! It doesn’t sound like a lot but when you get thousands of $$ involved, it adds up fast!

Going to wdw in March.....I usually got the dining plan...this time it's qs,...we shall see which one we like better.....perhaps I'll keep track and see if I like it....

@@kaylaandmarkalan I think the dining plan is worth the benefit of not having to pull out the wallet Everytime you eat ...we really enjoyed the dining plan....but didn't enjoy the fact that they decided how much you should tip....I was a waitress waaaay back when so I know how to tip....I thought they were excessive in their tipping a state ...if I'm at a.buffet I don't think I shod tip as much as I would at a place where they serve your food....just my 2 cents

Definitely good points! We didn’t eat at any table service except for Ohana on that trip, so we didn’t run into that too much. We’ll see how this upcoming trip goes! We’ve got quite a few we’re trying this time!

You need to CA and get the churros at Disneyland. They are totally different than the WDW ones and I don't know why. But they are so good.

I feel that you didn’t plan your meals or did enough research before using the dining plan. You could have traded those dining credits for snack credits and used them to pay for those snacks you payed for out of pocket...

Samantha Montoya thank you for your feedback! We actually did quite a bit of research and planning beforehand. We had almost every place and item we ate planned out before we got there with just a few exceptions. We were having some difficulties with cast members not using our quick service credits when we asked them too and instead it blew through our snack credits, so when we ran out of snack credits, it was mostly at the flower and garden booths that we had to pay a lot. We used dining credits when we purchased more than one item from a single booth, but we didn’t want to use a whole dining credit on one $4-$6 item. Thank you for watching!

Technically no, unless it is part of a combo. I will say though, I think it just depends on the cast member and where you are at because there were a few times that we got some extra stuff and they didn’t charge us more for it. Like at Casey’s we got the normal side of fries and cheese fries, but they counted it all under one meal credit

We did share quite a few of our meals! We like to do that for the opportunity to try a lot more things without getting as full as fast.

I had so many contradictory moments with our QS meal plan recently.... I had one person split up one meal without using any credits. Then I had someone let us pay for 3 snack with 1 QS meal credit and then I had someone not let me use a QS credit for 3 snacks....they said it was only available at QS restaurants.... Except lastly I had a snack cart let me split a QS credit for 3 snacks.... SMH. So confused. It's the first trip we have ever had any problems splitting up or changing on the fly.

Yeah, it can definitely all get a little confusing! I guess it’s it’s just one of those things you always have to make sure you ask and ask them very clearly!

So you are able to get a dessert/side instead of a drink when you use a quick service credit?

That’s an excellent question! I did not think that you could, but we would usually get an entree, side, dessert, and specialty drink and it counted as one meal credit. That may or may not work every time, but it never hurts to try! If all else fails, they will probably just charge you for the dessert. Drinks are definitely included and I think sides are included if the entree’s normally come with a side. I hope that helps!

For people reading, please know that this couple did not do adequate research and spent a lot of their own money. I think there are other ways to better navigate this.

We are sorry that you feel that way! We like to give honest reviews about our experiences and we kept getting mixed answers from cast members on trying to use a QS Credit for snack items. We had a lot of our meals and snacks planned out, but that plan went to waste when our credits weren’t used properly.

You all over spent on your own you don’t have to get all what you got but if you only just used your dining plan and not spent out of pocket you would have saved.You all don’t not plan very well with your dining plan because me and my husband used this plan and planned accordingly and didn’t have to spend anything out of pocket and still were satisfied

We actually had everything planned out, but had issues a few times with cast members using our credits correctly the way we told them to. That’s why we went through our credits so quickly. Other items we chose to pay cash because it wasn’t a great use for a snack credit (we always tried to be around the $5 mark).
