Dear friends and family, in this video I share with you the okra stew recipe that I grew up with and I hope you are able to give it a try.
Ingredients:
Okro 2.6 lb
Tomatoes 4 large
Onions 3 large
Mackerel 1.4 lb
Oxtail 2.15 lb
Cow skin 0.6 lb
Tripe 1 lb
Cow foot 1.4 lb
Blue crabs 1.3 lb
Kako (stock fish) 85 g
Ginger 30 g
Baking (bicarbonate of) soda 1 tsp
Palm oil 1 cup

Yes......I'm from John's island, SC and yes we are deeply rooted in our African cuisine. My great grandmother also taught me to cut okra in diced pieces too for our okra soup. We put whole shrimp in but I've never tried crab but will soon.😋🤗

The 'Nigerian Kako' is called Okporoko. Use some warm water to wash it. It softens it and helps remove any kind of dirt adhering to the skin due to the drying process. Cheers!

This is the okra stew I know and love! Im in Love with this recipe instead of red onions I use shallots - baddest okra stew going! I love your pots and I would love you to do an “essential cookware” video.

I usually don’t comment but you make cooking so easy. I’m from Cameroon and we eat similar foods. I have tried several recipes of yours; shrimp fried rice, linguine pasta, chili etc and omg... my family loves it. Will definitely try this soup today. By the way, I love your hair. It makes you look young. Thanks for sharing your recipes.
