Let’s look at how companies normally work. Small businesses are often run by a boss, who may employ managers, and people under them. Larger corporations are run by a CEO or chairman, with a board of directors, and directors, managers, employees etc under them. And yes, the higher up that structure you are, the more you earn. However, there’s one key difference to MLMs: everyone gets paid for the work they do. Everyone who works for a company gets a salary, and enjoys employment rights that often include sick pay, holiday, expenses and legal protection. And while the performance and bonuses of a manager or director may well be judged on the sales (or other KPIs) impacted by the efforts and results of the people working under them, their salary and job security isn’t. Of course if their team failed over a sustained period of time, their work would be under review. But they’re not at risk of losing their job every single month if their team shrinks in number or doesn’t make their sales target. In non-MLM companies you don’t find everyone above you pocketing commission directly based on your sales. You also don’t need to pay a company or buy a starter kit to join them. Nor are you usually expected to consume or use the products you sell at your own expense. 2. MLMs are nothing like ‘normal’ businesses. An MLM participant is simply an unsalaried sales rep (not a ‘business owner’ as they deludedly call themselves) with zero rights. And to claim that every company is a pyramid scheme just displays the level of brainwashing they’ve been subjected to, or their complete ignorance. 3 If a product is really as amazing as MLMs claim to be, why aren’t stores clamouring to stock them? Why aren’t they easily available to every shopper in bricks and mortar stores and online shops? The answer is because they’re not that amazing. When you look at the products hawked by MLM reps there’s nothing special about them at all (other than their price, which is usually disproportionately high for their quality). But that’s not what reps will tell you. They’ll tell you their products are of a unique or superior quality and can only be bought through direct sales for some mysterious reason. It’s a win-win for the MLM bosses, and lose-lose for most of the reps. Also, when you consider the potential for profit, direct selling just doesn’t make financial sense. If you rely only on retail sales, you need to sell to your network every single week to maintain your income. And how many people have a large network of family and friends who need exactly what you sell and will buy from you frequently enough? 5. The truth is that the only way you can make anywhere near a livable income from MLMs is to recruit a large enough down line under you. Something very few people achieve, making it much more like ‘direct recruiting’ than direct selling. 6. As Robert FitzPatrick predicts, most people at the bottom of the pyramid lose money. The only people making anything like a livable income are at the very top. This agrees with research conducted by the world’s top MLM experts, including research published by the FTC 6. If you have a friend who works in an MLM you may have seen posts excitedly talking about the ‘free’ car or overseas trip they’re working towards, or photos of social events their company has thrown for them. Or they’ll share their thrill at working towards a higher status level. There is a very good reason why MLMs dangle these enticing carrots - their overpriced products do not sell themselves (despite what reps may boast). Therefore, the MLMs promise wonderful rewards like holidays, cars and parties if you sell a certain quota by a particular time. 7. if it’s impossible for most people to make money in MLMs, why do so many people stay with them? The truth is that they do not. 8. MLM reps are unpaid sales reps, not ‘business owners’ 9. Many MLM reps love to describe themselves as ‘business owners’ But they’re not business owners - they’re unpaid sales reps. 10. Unlike a real business owner, they do not get to choose their own product range, and they cannot shop around suppliers for the best deals. Instead, they are stuck with the products and prices available from their MLM. They also cannot decide what profit margin they want to make - their commission level is decided for them. Very few distributors are able to make money in mlm, who is responsible? according to you distributor. MLM products are expensive who is responsible? according to you - distributor Many people are no longer interested in buying through long chain of upline downline. mlm products are just becoming difficult to sell who is responsible? Distributor. Two three or even more years many distributors trusts you and yet is not able to make livable income who is responsible?- distributor. Many blame to the distributor and say you are responsible, but I think this horrible system will soon end, should end. New consumer protection (direct selling)2021 will bring relief to the distributors
