I’m a 34 yr old housewife & mom of 2. I’ve been listening to Kyary Pamyu for 10 years. I still look forward to new music from her. My daughter has been a fan since age 3. Her music makes our hearts light. It’s joyful and welcoming. I can’t explain it. Her videos are so wonderful as well. A treat every time. I’m so glad for her hard work & dedication to her craft. I’ll be listening as long as she making music. 🥰

I am a crazy 72 year old American. I love these videos very much. She has an amazing production team. The songs are brilliant and the choreography, costumes and design are remarkable. Kyary herself has become a brilliant performer. I look forward to these very much. Each is clever, exciting and with many brilliant moments. And then the next song surpasses even that. Maybe I am the world's oldest otaku, but i think that these videos continue to go beyond all my expectations. Thank you for these.

Don't be rude and just let me give you some facts about the video's thematic: For many Japanese folks, human relations are predestined by a red string that the gods tie to the pinky fingers of those who find each other in life. Legend has it that the two people connected by this thread will have an important story, regardless of the time, place or circumstances. The red string might get tangled, contracted or stretched, as surely often happens, but it can never break. Maybe this song is just about that EVERYBODY has a soulmate. Maybe Kyary has found her own soulmate too. Just be nice and chill, maybe YOU will find your soulmate soon. Take care of yourself and stay at home. ♥♥♥♥♥

I really wondered about the meaning of this. I saw it as exploring the connection between the culture of ancient japan (with the buddhist tripitaka style monk) and the modern culture (with a cute cat girl). Both of them are accompanied by kamaitachi, which are shape shifting spirits that appear to be cat spirits in the video, even complete with the little hand sickles they often carry. This reminded me of some very old carved kimono beads I saw in a museum once that featured all sorts of cute and whacky characters that you could easily imaging finding in a japanese manga shop today, but they were hundreds of years old. There is a delightful continuity in japanese culture across the ages.

the views she used to have during 2013-15 wasn't really motivated by her(or Nakata) music, It was an explosion caused by her wild and (at the time) new aesthetics. nowadays, the people who still listen to and dig in her music aren't motivated by pure hype, so, while the views are smaller, the fanbase is more genuine and dedicated.

quite glad to be a fan of JJ and find this stuff really enjoyable, it honestly landed as one of my most favorite songs of 2020 (only beaten by Wash Us In The Blood by Kanye West). Production was really sweet and lovely, the tune is ear candy, and the instrumentation has that Kyary quirkiness
It amazes me how Kyary can look like she's putting her all into her craft while at the same time making it look so effortless.

Look at the views tho lol...her era is long gone
@stoneuniko30574 жыл бұрын
@@ryan6111 I can understand that. But do views become an absolute measurement for the creativity and artistry of an artist? About the long gone era comment, I found that is very debatable. On what factors you judge her current activities as failure? By KZfaq views alone? Well, she still sold out her tours based on her latest album Japamyu in Japan. She was invited to play at Coachella, sadly, due to COVID-19, the festival was canceled. She had a very amazing co-operate DJ EDM music concert with her producer, Nakata. You should definitely check that out. So to say that her era are long gone, I don't think so because seems like Japanese, which are her main targets, are still very into to her magic tricks. For me, there are more than just youtube views to judge the creativity of an artist. Yes, Views can be important, may boost you to overwhelming success. But sometimes, I just want to focus on the music production, and in this case, the song and the video are fresh and very interesting.

Well, I like to listen to Kyary's song when I'm working on something creativity; or when I start to feel like I have no clue on something I'm working on. The beat, melody, Kyary's voice in the songs are somehow like a magic. It's always bring me luck and getting me out of something I was struggling on with ease. It's like a switch that turned on my creativity function in my brain. Yes, Kyary's song is like my lucky item that helps me with my job now. Lil bit of context for this video. In Japanese tradition, it is said that everyone has an invisible red ribbon tied around their little finger, and the other end of the ribbon is tied around the little finger of the person you are destined to be with. You'll see this imagery in a lot of Japanese music videos and anime. It's very prominent in the film Your Name.
She is just too precious. I cannot. Bless you Kyary Pamyu Pamyu
@fewelljay4 жыл бұрын
I love the Japanese folklore in this catchy new Kyary Pamyu Pamyu song. For those of you who may not know, Kamaitachi (The name of this song) is a yokai (or Japanese folk monster) thought to be a trio of weasels that appear in a whirlwind to cut their victim. Despite the somewhat dark description, this song is really happy and upbeat.
@devforfun5618 Жыл бұрын
for clarification, they make superficial cuts to cause discomfort, not to hurt anyone, they are mischievous, not killers
Hating this new era of Nakata's music. It all sounds the same. Remember when this dude was an innovator?
@IFADWORLD4 жыл бұрын
I think there's no significant difference between her old & new song. The only one different is about the samples
@abysslucy4 жыл бұрын
@ w/e exactly, it's awfully the same fuckin music over and over again, sounds the same, what's the point, that's annoying as hell, regret her beginnings, when music had interesting melodies, Kyary pamyu pamyu has the potential to do WAY better than those annoying and repetitive songs
@gimzie4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, the majority of Nakata's newer tracks sound really uninspired. I think Kyary's older tracks in general were more memorable and distinguishable from each other. They had their own style and stood out, while this track just sounds really generic; there isn't really a distinct melody that you can remember. Doesn't stop the music videos from being well-made, at least.
