If Whitney's vocals sound fresh and modern, it's because (HELLO) she influenced most of today's current/young artists. So, the 'modern' sound is really the 'Whitney' sound. Know what I mean?

Her voice is too strong for it to be modern. Strong singers aren’t celebrated much anymore. Kelly Clarkson is the only one I can think of with. strong vocals in the mainstream in the past ten years or so and that’s because she was directly influenced by Whitney/Celine/Mariah, who were all in their prime while Kelly was growing up.

Would you say no if asked? No, smart move, just an honour for Kygo. “The Estate of Whitney E. Houston and our new partner Primary Wave are delighted with the collaboration between Kygo and Whitney,” said Pat Houston, Whitney’s sister-in-law and former manager, who doubles as the sole executor of her estate. “We knew Kygo would be the right producer to enhance Whitney’s powerful vocal performance on ‘Higher Love,’ to the standards and expectations that Whitney’s fans have recognized for over three decades." www.rap-up.com/2019/06/28/new-music-kygo-whitney-houston-higher-love/
