About FIRSTHAND: Life After Prison
----------
They walk through prison gates with little more than a bus ticket and less than $100. After spending months or years counting down their sentences, they have days or hours to find food, housing, healthcare, and a job. WTTW’s FIRSTHAND: LIFE AFTER PRISON offers an intimate look at the challenges and opportunities facing people returning to society after spending time in prison, as they seek to restart their lives while carrying the stigma of a criminal record.
FIRSTHAND: Life After Prison is part of the award-winning FIRSTHAND multiplatform, multi-year initiative focusing on the firsthand perspectives of people facing critical issues in Chicago.

I see a beautiful future in store for Kyle! I hope he continues to stay sober, out of jail, and is able to rebuild his life. Baby steps. Just take it day by day.

Kyle, you seem to be doing incredibly well considering the enormous hurdles you have overcome and are still facing. One critical support you may find helpful is Faith. I know that if you genuinely pray for help and support, you'll tap into an enormous amount of energy and guidance you have never expected or experienced. I know it's difficult and awkward at first but the more you ask for help, the more help you will receive. Bless you and your journey.

One of the hardest things about getting sober is you don't think you can ever have fun again without the high

Anyone with addiction or past addiction you're precious you're loved you are special. God loves you. Life is worth it and it's not the same without you .If you think noone loves you, God does, and I would if I met you. God's love is unconditional like the love of the best mom in the world. Hugs 🤗

Wow, beautiful story of redemption. I’m so grateful for his support system. They did not judge him, they were what family and friends are supposed to be…uplifting and encouraging
