Walker is more of a long distance runner. While Mbappe is a really explosive player, making it difficult to keep up once you're stationary. Because in short distance, he can smoke anybody.

He's a strange player for me. Doing very well but I can imagine his fall off will be quicker than he is. He always annoys me when he plays against my team because he's so fast and so strong that it makes up for his rawness and lack of technique. He is often out of position and has to rely on his speed to cover up his mistakes. I'd imagine once the speed goes, he won't be able to compete as a right back. He's quite good as a centre back in a back 3 for England so I'd guess that's what he'll become when he slows down

Mbappe has a technique on how he uses his speed. If you look close at what walker is saying. It's not about jusr being fast. He thinks on how he will penetrate and outpace you by slowing down your momentum. As a defender especially fullbacks if a winger outpaces you the defence has been broken

That's the issue with Mbappe His acceleration is mad. If he brakes quickly, you have to do so to avoid him getting incisive. Then suddenly he builds up mad speed from nowhere and before you try to build up, he is gone. Your best bet is to stay very close to him with a foot ahead despite the dangerous implications

I think the thing about these fast players is most have really good sprint speed or acceleration. Kylian at full speed might not break a record but i dont think theres anyone close in terms of that first step or two, I mean if you blink he’ll go from standing infront of you to being behind you

If you watch Poland vs France in the WC you can see Matty Cash keeping up with Mbappe and after watching that video it just blows my mind on what cash was doing that day.
