Been watching a ton of videos on the MX Keys and finally I see one that actually explains and demonstrates the differences in a real way. Love the bit about the key travel height, I was looking for that exactly to get a better grip at how the MX types compared to the Magic Keyboard.

Excellent video! I have all three and using the Apple for TouchID, otherwise I would use my MX keys with my Mac. You might try the G915 TKL. I've found it may be my favorite keyboard in years (I have the clicky version). The latency is the best I have found for a wireless keybaord and it's between the Keychron and the MX keys in regards to travel. It's windows only but will work with a Mac as well.

Excellent video! I like the MX Keys Mini i just purchased except that you cannot control screen brightness on it! Maybe I'm missing something so will call LogiTech. Use it as primary keyboard since i raised up my MacBook for a more ergonomic worksite.

You might have thought of it already but you could use keyboard maestro or better touch tool to remap the back and forward track keys. And if you don’t care for caps lock, you could use that as the globe key.

FWIW, I returned the MX Keys Mechanical Mini, in part because I wanted blue switches and I got brown cuz I was not yet knowledgable about mechanical keyboards. I ended up with the Keychron K2 V2 with blue switches and, of course, the Apple Magic Keyboard with Touch I.D. I switch between these two keyboards primarily depending on which way the wind is blowing. But I love them both! Perhaps if I had a Logitech MX Keys Mechanical Mini with blue switches, or even the non-mechanical model you reviewed here, I might have stayed with that. Oh well. Thanks for the video.

Magic keyboard is just simple, reliable and has no gimmick .. I do like the MX keys offer 3 device connectivity .. Brilliant review mate

What I'm really missing on the MX Keys Mini are the screen brightness keys. Also I like that keys on the Magic Keyboard more, but often switch computers and really miss the possibility to easily switch between multiple devices.

I have the white colour MX Keys Mini. I use it with my MX Ergo. I love this keyboard. It’s awesome. I love Logitech MX series!! Mine even with backlight turned on can last me for a few months because I seldom use it. I pair it with my m2 Mac Mini Pro, together with my MX Ergo and my Harman Kardon Aura Studio 3 and with my 75 inch Samsung QLED mounted on my wall in my bedroom for entertainment use only. I love my setup very much! It’s simply awesome!!

How does this compare to the Apple Magic Keyboard, if I don't need to switch to windows/other devices? I just connect to my Mac, that's it. To me its really down to the typing experience, aesthetics, backlighting, and build quality. Or should I swap to a mechanical keyboard, to be able to swap to cute keycaps and all that? 🤔

I purchased an iPad Air a few months ago, and I have been looking for a separate/stand-alone keyboard for it, to replace an older Logitech K480 which I've had for a few years, and I just want something that is more compact and quieter than the K480. I had a question: According to Logitech's website, the MX Keys Mini comes in two variations, the MX Keys Mini and the MX Keys Mini for Mac. Does it Matter which one I buy for an iPad?

Excellent, indepth video, thanks. I’ve used a Mx mouse since 2015 (Performance Mx, Mx Master and now the Mx Master 3s) and have no intention in changing. They are a fantastic investment, will last you for years and hold their value when looking to sell after you’ve upgraded. Just my thoughts 😀

That keyboard looks like it could be the update to thr K810, which I am currently using with my Android Galaxy Z Fold 4 (Android 14 Upside Down Cake, One UI 6.1) and LG V20 (Android 7 Nougat) via Bluetooth connections. Is there a Caps Lock LED? BTW, the Microsoft programs (apps) and DeX on the Z Fold 4 make the Caps Lock light glow, unlike the V20 and other Androids I've used . BTW, very little mention of Androids is mentioned in these reviews, so I thought I'd add mine.

Great video, however there is a tiny mistake. You said Apple Keyboard only works on Mac and is not through, works also over Windows with oficial drivers from Apple 😉

The lack of fingerprint button is my only drawback. I’d rather have the Mx keys because it types better and it comes in black. But the id button for logging in and purchases is really nice.

Appreciate you brother… I’m a Casual user about to switch to an M1 Mac-mini from a Windows PC…😅 I’ve been doing a little research & Looking at options for accessories.… Keyboard, mouse, USB-C docking hub with internal SSD capability,(Like Satechi, Hagibis, etc.) + 1T SSD like Samsung 870. I do like the fingerprint technology on the Magic Keyboard, which I often use on IPad…(unfortunately no backlit feature🤨) The MX keyboard certainly renders consideration. Also,Looking @ the Logitech MX master 3s mouse… The new Mac mini should be here next week and will initially set up using a standard keyboard and mouse that came with the old Acer PC. Any feedback or suggestions for a new Mac user Would be appreciated. I’ve been using Apple iPads & iPhones for the last eight years and love their reliability and use… Best regards!

First of all, great review, thanks for that!! 👏👏👏 But I still have a doubt =/ Can you tell me if you have any lag/delay/problem (similar to the explanation bellow) with this keyboard directly via bluetooth on your Mac? I ask that because, today I have a Logitech keyboard that IS NOT bluetooth, it only works with the dongle (which comes with the keyboard). The Mac that I have only has usb-c inputs, and for me to be able to use this keyboard, I need to put a usb-c to usb adapter. However, it is impossible to work like this, because the delay/lag is insane, really really bad. I believe it is due to the adapter on the Mac, because with a dongle directly on usb in another pc, it works fine. So, I believe MX Keys will solve my problem, but i'm not surre! Thanks anyway ;)

You say the Magic keyboard has great build. Have you picked it up and tried to twist it? I use my MX keys mini with lights off

There needs to be a comparison between The Magic Keyboard, MX Keys Mini, Satechi Slim X1 and the Huwaei Ultrathin Keyboard; each one wireless while the Satechi and Huawei both offer wired/wireless modes and the Huawei having the CTRL button in the correct spot; the bottom left corner.

I did too :) I'm still in the painful period of remapping my brain muscle memory :) Apple Magic Keyboard worked with Windows fine for me, just had to buy a certain app to properly remap the keys under Windows as I didn't find a proper free solution.

What do you think about Nuphy? I just bought Halo96 mechanical keyboard, but it seems the keys are a bit crowded. I'm not sure is the feeling similar on the Keychron K2? I need a version with numpad...

Does anyone know how to solve this problem? External bluetooth keyboard and mouse not detected at login screen after reboot. Bluetooth keyboard doesn't work during initial boot. macOS doesn't load the low-energy driver at the login stage. I must use a Logitech USB dongle or an original Apple keyboard. That's not a problem, but I expected to have one more available USB port using the most expensive bluetooth keyboard.

Magic kb is not a problem but the trackpad. The trackpad works great but eats batteries like crazy. Are there any replacement trackpads out there ?

I used the MX Keys mini for about 12 months until I worked out in my case it was too cramped and I was getting pain. I am now using the full-sized MX master and its far better.

I was looking at the MX Keys but I found out it's a membrane and somehow I can't stomach spending that much on a little rubber dome. All of my logitech gear has had reliability and longevity issues.

Mx keys is great right up until the time you see it has scooped out keys. It’s just not nice to use. What you need is Satechi X1 slim. As well built as the apple and connects to 3 devices. Works with Mac and pc

Having used the Magic keyboard for years (about a decade), I'm enjoying the Logi MX. The keys feel meatier. The springs are firmer, requiring a bit more force. I don't think I'll switch back to Apple's keyboard any time soon.

If only I could use the MX Keys during boot on my Mac, that would make it perfect. I had two crappy el cheapo keyboards who were available in my Mac during boot (dual boot user here). But they broke and I replaced them with the MX Keys Mini. If the MX Keys Mini were available during boot times, that would make it perfect.

I would too, if they hadn’t made the decision to make F1-F3 exclusively device-swapping keys. Anyone using the Apple ecosystem doesn’t need to swap devices - universal control.

Just started trying out a Magic keyboard on my PC, and the fact that delete isn't a thing is just...ridiculous. I work in Excel a lot, and highlight multiple cells, hit backspace...it just deletes the first cell. FN+backspace does nothing. Annoying.

I just got the mx mechanical mini for mac and even the simplest shortcuts like ctrlZ do not work. It's frustrating

Nice but too small for me. I use the larger one with the number pad. I got an MX Keys piece of junk so currently using my old wired Mac one. You can have the MX junk is you want. MX Vertical mouse is also a piece of crap. I'm looking for new stuff.

no brainer here logitech rules i have the master MX keys and love it and i can have it bound to 3 devices and just hit a button same for my mouse master mouse as well and the master keys keyboard also lights up apple does not and apple only binds to the one system only

Nice Video. But I have to say you can use the apple keyboard on a windows pc( I use it both on my Mac and windows pc).

Honestly non mechanical keyboards just always feel like utter shit to me, the Magic Keyboards or MX keys mini are no exception. They feel like typing on childrens toys compared to real mechanical switches. Especially given the customization level of differing switches you can use to suit your own preferences, something membrane and scissor don't offer at all. My other issue with the Magic keyboard or MX Mini is aren't the keycaps just layered on legends? Those really won't stand the test of time if they are, which is rather sad given the price point. Where as a mechanical I put on one set of Doubleshot or Dyesub caps it's good for life. I'm guessing like myself you seem to type quite a bit so legends fading is definitely something that sadly does wear through legends after about a year or less of usage. Even on the PBT Pok3r keycaps which were lasered I wore through them in about 6 months. How have yours held up? Never had a non mechanical keyboards legends hold up more than a year at most really without wearing completely or at least partially looking ugly. Something easily changed on mechanicals. Slightly unrelated, have you ever tried Topre? Especially a HHKB2 where as you are using a Mac like myself. The newer ones offer Bluetooth and are easily one of the best typing "Feels" available, though more expensive than any keyboard mentioned here by an order of magnitude.

Sorry Logitech, Apple’s Magic Keyboard will never be beat.

Any macOS user that does not need the FN key position as the original apple keyboard is not a pure macOS typist! Fortunately, we have the recent Logitech MX Keys mini for mac with that in consideration. As a software developer and using macOS for years, I don't even look to the keyboard while I'm writing; not having the FN key as the last 4th key on the left is a HUGE issue. I never saw a mechanical keyboard with four, programmable keys on the left... 🫤 With that said, I bought, recently, the Logitech MX Keys mini for Mac, and I'm loving it!!! ❤️
