Yes you need the paid version to get the auto-captions within davinci. The Snap Captions plugin is free however

amazing video mate , I really love your set up background. I am planning to open a KZfaq channel but I am struggling in finding how KZfaqrs edit their videos. so plugins are what most KZfaqrs use , like they don't customize them because that would take so much time I think. so should I just find all the plugins and use them in all my videos and save time.

You drag it in from effects. It’s use is to affect EVERY clip underneath rather than separately.

Yep, as the above said, search for it in your effects panel and drag it over top of where you want the effect. Then you drag the effect (zoom for example) onto the adjustment clip

Like, just days ago. I'm a right side of the brain kind of fella, a creative type. I'm a writer, traditional artist and digital artist, musician, and I build gaming PCs for kicks. The whole video editing -- well, for a while I was using Camtasia, but more of a hobby, as a matter of interest. I just enjoy playing around with the computer trying software, probably because I am 56 years old and the direction of where computer and software is going fascinates me. After all, I grew up with Pac=Man and Atari 2600. I took to modern tech like a fish to water, always have. The fact that I can use Lightwave and Zbrush to create characters and 3D models on the computer just bowls me over. I use Autodesk Inventor to assist in my other hobby, woodworking, by using Inventor to build furniture in 3D space and knowing exactly how a piece is going to look before I make a first cut of wood. So DaVinci is interesting, and I began looking for videos to teach me how to use the software. It's definitely more involved and requires more of a learning curve than Camtasia, despite being cheaper. The ironic part is, I don't edit videos, although I have been thinking about starting a KZfaq channel. I was just surfing around KZfaq and discovered videos about DaVinci, and I downloaded it, to play around with it. That's just me. I do have a question, though. Why does a project begin at 1.00.00 on the timeline instead of zero? That held me up for a while, until I began watching videos about the software and saw that this is just the way it is. But is there any logical reason for it? In Camtasia, the project starts its timeline at zero, not 1.00.00. So how's this for chatting?... :)

Why buy a major editing program and have to get plugins? The program does everything but wipe up your mess once you are done! It should be more than sufficient for any but the most demanding editor... this program is way more than the average user can out run. This is like buying a Lambo and getting it home then "tuning it up..." Really?

0:22 you're lazy. bloatware. 1:38 this can be achieved using a "low pass" filter or a "high pass" filter. bloatware. 3:21 debatable, but if you find something that's free on yt that can also work. not everyone is pulling that Leonardo DiCaprio meme when they hear "chains rattling sound effect number 1 free no haram 2023" 3:46 tutorials are free. stop giving elitists your money and learn how to mask and use keyframes. 5:00 i can see why this is your fav. I wouldn't get this myself, but it looks promising (edit: davinci already has this, but no one wants to use stock davinci lol). bloatware (kinda). 6:54 you're not here to get into color grading. even if you were... you're not. also, completely unrelated; 9:06 why are video editors so bad at lying?
