So I will save someone else the trouble and mention that there is a double meaning to the song, it is also about death, 'go out dancing'. The dancers at the end are dressed in Day of the Death makeup, I guess they look vampirish as well. This is my funeral song lol!

Perfectly explained by Andrew ❤. Golden is by far my favourite Kylie album in terms of songwriting, all lyrical masterpieces IMO

@@ValenciaGamble andrew explained it well. Some additional context: The 'Golden' album was released as she was turning 50. Obviously a major milestone in anyone's life -- especially a cancer survivor's -- so it tracks that she was considering her own mortality (but of course, in a joyful 'Kylie' way.) You might argue that not every country-pop song on this album worked, but it does feature some of her best work as a writer with some talented songwriters and producers.

Yes, she wrote this song about "going out" when we die not going out to the disco! Brilliant lyrics really when you think most people think it's about going to the disco and dancing! She's written a few songs about death and I think it's why she has a fabulous look on life and make the most of it while you can. The lyrics are Kylie down to a tee! She just doesn't stop! I think her cancer diagnosis and the fact that she couldn't have children caused her to think seriously about the life she has and make the best of it! She has always done this since her Homecoming Tour. I saw a marked difference in her approach to her career since that time. I always get chocked up when I hear her sing "Flower" which she wrote following realisation that she could not have children. She has many fan requests for that song but you can see she is emotional. The lyrics are absolutely incredible!!! She is a great song writer!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤

The LAYERS of this song... I know the fandom dismisses this era so quick, but the writing is so real. Like this. This song is ultimately about death. Living to the fullest to the very end. Kylie's hands were in nearly (if not) every song, and it shows. The Golden track itself was her accepting turning 50. This album is so chefs kiss, minus MAYBE one song. Sooo so good. Lost Without You deserves a listen if you haven't already. I actually got a tattoo of a lyric from that song, it's THAT good.

i'm not into country but i love this song. notice she's in a hotel room like the one in padam,the tv looks similar to the one in padam and the high back chair with foot stool also similar to the red one in padam. at the end she was dancing with women as well as men was that for her gay fans? love the dresses.
