This album was dropped on Parlophone, and Kylie doesn't draw on any of the sounds of post-punk fueled jangly guitar pop that started the ethos of indie pop. She's pretty straight forward dance-pop, borrowing more from Madonna and ABBA than the Smiths or C86.

Actually, at the time this song came out there was a genre of music already out called Electro (some called it Electroclash) that had the 80s synth style, mid to late 90s to early 2000s. When a style of music grows more popular in an underground/club way, eventually the top 40 acts (like Kylie) will have a song or two in a similar style. She wasn’t ahead of her time, yet it is an amazing song

Kinda disappointing how this song did not top the billboard charts. And I also don’t understand how her success was really only in other countries except the US. I mean Fever was an amazing era, but damn, America has really been missing out.

It's because a lot of videos has been uploaded, re-uploaded and even a third and fourth time uploaded due to youtube changing rules, to clicks that had been fiddled with, record company contracts changing..so on and so forth, endlessly in a rapidly changing world....so that by the time they were uploaded one last time, the songs were already so old hits that people had either forgotten all about them, with new artists and hits coming out all the time..forgotten, or not cared about anymore. I reckon that if it was an original upload the view count would be in hundreds of millions by now. We will unfortunately never know the real figure.

Arguably her best song, and quite possibly video as well. It's ridiculous how good Slow's execution was (in every way) and how it still holds up today.
