Sexism exists... radio 1 and Capital wouldn’t initially play Padam Padam, yet David Guetta is also 55 and is played regularly on them. Ageism is real and women are the victims. We need to remember this and support artists like Kylie who really deserve their success. And she doesn’t even look her age! She is timeless, relevant and showing everyone how it’s done. So yes, it's a big deal. And it also reached the Top 10 in Ireland, the Top 20 in The Netherlands and Australia, and has been certified Gold in Australia and Brasil so far. How many women over 50 have Top 10 and Top 20 hits nowadays? And how many women have hits in their third decade of releasing music? Not that many.

Yes!! I love this era of Kylie too! She finally does seem confident and sassy! I don't think the new American fans realise that all thru the 80s and 90s: Kylie was just trashed by British Music Journalists. They constantly gave her albums bad reviews and mocked her as "The Singing Budgie". Kylie tried really really hard and made incredible pop songs...but she was unnapreciated for decades and it knocked her confidence. This era really feels like she DGAF anymore about what the critics say and she is feeling herself!😊 💚💚💚

@@Criztify Well, if autotune is the artistes favourite stage tool, Kylie does perform (of course with backing vocals of hers tracked) vocals and dance routines for a 55 year old better than most others her age or younger. 40 years of working in the music industry tells me enough to know the difference between an exceptional performance and one that is not. Kylie has been very consistent throughout her career, whereas others have had peaks and troughs, many falling off all together.

@@feliscatus6419 Though she does work with multiple producers on her new album 'Tension', which is no bad thing as other experienced heads can take a production into other lanes not thought of by the artiste and is very commonplace across numerous genres. This itself is not a criticism. I admire Kylie for her inventiveness and longevity, nevermind her energy and still striking beauty. A true exception amongst a sea of pretenders.

I 100% agree with you ncallaway9731 Kylie is at her ABSOLUTE best when she does dance - pop / electropop or even disco music 🎵🎶. Light Years, Fever, Aphrodite, Disco and Tension are the best examples of Kylie's work in these genres of music 🎵🎶. It's great and interesting when Kylie experiments with different genres as well such as indie music 🎵🎶 on Impossible Princess, R&B on Body Language and country music 🎵🎶 on Golden, but her disco / dance - pop / electropop albums are usually the BEST thing about her!
