@@piamoltzau4382 well, yes. They are actors hired by disney to work at their amusement park. They are supposed to stay in character and interact with the guests but since everyone has a camera they find inventive ways to have a few laughs with the guests and advertise the park through them telling this story and showing the videos for years to come.

Honestly it is a fun job. I worked as a stormtrooper for a few years. We do keep in character in parades or certain events. But most of the time. We are allowed to improvise and have fun with people. But man is it warm as hell in the suit

@@rabidgaming9383I know a few people with screen accurate Stormtrooper suits. Honestly, I couldn't do it. They can't sit down (the ones at Disney seem to have more space between the leg and torso armor to allow that) and the vision in the helmet is limited because of the eye placement which is why I have seen a few incidents of Stormtroopers accidentally knocking over little kids and one guy falling down a flight of stairs. The TIE pilots are even worse because they can't move their heads, not to mention Tusken Raiders who only have those two tiny holes to see out of. The banter must be so worth it though!

I'm in Sci Fi cosplay and know a bunch of folks from the 501st Legion (also known as Vader's Fist). They are cosplayers who build screen accurate Star Wars suits in their free time with their own money. They do charity work, conventions etc. It's a whole sub-culture tbh. My boyfriend is a member as a screen accurate Kylo Ren, so I sometimes do support/security during their troops. I basically make sure they drink enough water, take frequent breaks and get everywhere on time, carry their belongings, take pictures and make sure people don't mess with them or damage their costumes. It is super fun to witness them in action! People love them so much. Of course they are not super in character like the folks at Disney, but you get to hear a ton of banter and see the funniest interactions.

You know I find it absolutely hilarious what these cast members behind the stormtroopers and Kyle rens do! Whenever they run into people using their “data pads” it’s hilarious how they interact with the guest. Like these cast members were awesome cause they trying to stay in character and figure out what the guest was doing with the data pad but what was hilarious is they’re trying to figure out the data pad while still giving the guest a good video to keep, so they’re sticking their heads over it and waving at it all confused😂 it’s cool how they do a good balance of staying in character but also be funny and interactive so the guests have a fun time. I hope that guest keeps that video forever lol
