It's amazing to try a pachinko machine for the first time and even exchange it. Not recommended for tourists, I think it's a bit difficult to figure out how to do it.

Fair enough! I agree! Though one benefit is that when you stray just 5 minutes from the main streets I found it pretty empty and a lot more local!

Yes Kyoto is overrated. They're struggling with too many foreign tourists. Please leave them alone.

I don’t think it’s overrated at all! Yes, there’s a lot of tourists - but at the same time the tourists are spending thousands of dollars supporting the local businesses etc. - provided tourists are respectful and mindful, of course, I thinks it mean to tell them to “leave Kyoto alone!” 😂
