It’s rare to find a cover that holds up equally to the original. Musically, this band is always good, but what impresses me is the ability to find vocalists who possess distinctive commercial voices. Vocally this is stellar.

So I'm commenting on this 2 years later, but... This is one of my favorite all time songs. For a cover, they nailed it! Watched the HSCC video the other night, Nothing is Gonna Stop us Now by Starship. So so good. I about lost my mind. The vocals were incredible as was the rest of the band.

I played in bands for 40+ years. There is a talent in capturing both the main song and the nuances that make a song great. THESE GUYS (AND GIRLS) GET IT!! Being a musician doesn't have to mean playing a million notes. The pros do whatever is necessary to make the song great. The clips posted by this group constantly surprise and amaze. Thanks to HSCC for providing some wonderful relief during this time.

I totally agree!! I've been in bands as well, I play five instruments (not all at once ;-) ) , I sing and I also do sound production & mixing. What this band does, is beyond limits! I second every word you said, plus the sound production of their covers is truly superb. These guys & girls are true pro's, in every sense of the word. Big salute!!

I am listening with LG Harmon Kardon Bluetooth headphones and GOOD LORD YOU GUYS ARE ROCKING !!!. The echo is spot on but the voice mix and vocals are out of sight!!! Great lead...great harmony...great mix...! The band with the most talent per square foot (i guess that would be square meter down under, mate) has done it again!

FUN FACTS ABOUT THIS SONG MOST PEOPLE DO NOT KNOW: "Kyrie Eleison" is Greek for "Lord, have mercy." It is used as a prayer in both Roman Catholic and Greek Orthodox services. Greek was the original language of the New Testament and it was later translated in to Latin. When this was a hit, very few people listening to Top 40 radio had any idea that they were singing "Lord Have Mercy, Down the Road that I must travel!" The religious significance was mostly lost. IN OTHERWORDS, most people thought it was about a girl named Kyrie or Carrie just the name was being miss-pronounced.

I knew what it meant… Im Catholic. These words when spoken are done towards the beginning of the Mass..Where the priest recites it first then the congregation repeats it. It’s part of the penitential act ..Greek or English is used during this part..Mostly English though. Kyrie Eleison (Lord have mercy) Christe Eleison (Christ Have Mercy) Kyrie Eleison ( Lord Have Mercy) It is the only part during the Roman Catholic Mass where Greek is used.

I saw Mr. MISTER live in the 80s at an outdoor arena and it started raining. They kept playing and were amazing....thanks for this awesome cover and bringing back a great memory for me. You guys are an incredible band and you nailed this

I watched this video last year when it was uploaded and find myself enjoying it even more now. Realizing that the performances were done virtually and how difficult it would seem but HSCC nailed it! Glenn Cunningham performed and sang this classic brilliantly. Incredible production from the two maestros, Darren Mullan and Con Delo.

Not Latin,the OP is right,this is ancient Greek,more specific the ''Common''-variant of it(''κοινη ελληνικη''). ''Κυριε Ελεησων ημας..'' (''Lord,show mercy on us'') it's the beginning of a prayer,in the Greek-Orthodox church.

I heard Mr Mr in 1985 when I was 13 years old and they seemed a shit. After hearing this recording I changed my mind about Mr Mr and listen again at my 51. What a song, Kyrie! What recording! The sound of the voice and the backing voices is sublime. Same with the sound of the synthesizer. Great job. It's my favorite cover of HSCC.
