It is the best Kyuss song. And the last on the last full length album they ever made. A revolutionary band that went out with a bang. They literally created a genre of music and didn't even try to. They are still considered underground, yet they have that level of influence. Probably the best band that no one ever heard of in the history of rock. Amazing!

+MrRetroville Kyuss is one of my favorite bands, but... what about Melvins? They are not so accesible as Kyuss, but they created at least two music genres (sludge and drone) and they practically founded grunge in the Deep Six Compilation.-

Feels like if all their discography was a trip to the Moon (Wretch is the blast off, Red Blues is the Orbital break through, Sky Valley is the space trip and Circus Leaves Town is the arrival) and this was it, spaceship landed, their last song... Love the statement "Kyus is the greatest band most people don't know.

They basically ended their career with this bombshell without telling anyone that it was actually over....! What a track to go out on, it has everything you'd expect from Kyuss old and new (and yes I do now about the split ep with QOTSA that came after). But as far as curtain calls go.....bow your head to the masters as this IS the final curtain call on a band who resurrected a whole scene and made metal exciting again from all the depressive music that was around at the time (eg Seattle scene). I do love that scene by the way but it was so refreshing to hear those lyrics....." You don't seem to understand the deal......."

in my mind, a lot of their music had a depressive but cathartic vibe, especially on this song and fatso forgotso. this whole chord progression gets me down but in a real up way, like a perfect blend of sativa and indica.

They didn't want to sound like anyone. They rejected metal, they rejected grunge. They represent the birth of Desert Rock, sometimes called Stoner Rock. I think the band never wanted to be labelled. They wanted to create a different sound, built on cool riffs. Now there are a million bands trying to emulate their sound. Some of them are very good. But if you want to be legendary like Kyuss, find your own sound, make something totally unique.

And they killed themselves to preserve their legacy. Fittingly like Kurt Cobain's legacy, this song, the swan song of Kyuss, is dedicated to the memory of those who were there- Dave and Krist- or maybe in a wider since the fans- who keep Kyuss and Kurt alive. The party was over... and the circus left town.

For me, all the albums are great, but my favorite is "Blues for the Red Sun". 50 million year trip, Caterpillar March, Green Machine... rocks.

Let’s have a shoutout to Producer, Chris Goss - I knew him from the old Masters Of Reality Days, back in Syracuse, NY. If you’re here, you just may enjoy Masters Of Reality - the band. Goss gets little credit in the birth of the desert rock sound, and it’s well-deserved.

This is maybe the best stoner rock song ever written... Has everything it should have... It's very long, it's sabbatesque, it's slow, it has tremendous bass, it has an incredible guitar solo, it has John Garcia... A genre's peak

@@riggs100 I feel you. That album is fantastic. Solarian 13, Return Trip, and Doom Mantia are all incredible. My second favorite album. I prefer WitchCult Today. I feel its a perfect blend of SuperCoven and DopeThrone. Torquemada 71, Saturnine, and Satanic Rites of Drugula are my favorites. I just feel its a perfect marriage of all their influences and sounds. The perfect combination of psychedelia and sludge.

So good. Saw them do it. And I saw Kyuss Lives! close out thier show with it too. I cut all the silence after the track and use it on loop to cool me out if I go "overboard". I repeat, SO GOOD! Nice up Guru350. TFS
