Yes you are right, everytime she sing it touches your heart, you can also feel the emotion...its defenitely stunning rendition..proud of her.

I agree with you that KZ's version was brilliant. It was born partly out of desperation. After the show before this one, the show's producers announced to the performers that they wouldn't have a week before the next show, they would film it 2 days from then so that the staff would gave time off for a national holiday. Rehearsal time with the show's band was extremely limited and KZ wasn't going to have enough time to work out the arrangement with the band. So, she called her guitarist Makoy Portado in The Philippines. On less than 24 hours notice, he flew from Manila to Shanghai. He arrived the morning of the show. He and KZ worked out the arrangement in a few hours that afternoon and performed it that night. By necessity, they had to do a simple stripped down version and it worked out great.

Thank you for the info. I always read your comments on KZ and have learned so much from you! If I may, heres a small tiny correction about Makoy flying to Shanghai...I'm pretty sure he flew from Manilla into Guangzhou, China (which is in Southern China and very close to the Philippines) and took a connecting flight over to Chengdu (which is in the middle of China and where Singer is based). Shanghai is on the northeastern part of China (closer to Taiwan, Japan and Korea) and pretty far from the Philippines. Hope that helps to clarify the KZ Singer story even more:)

@@magnetman007 Thanks for your compliments and the correction. I thought I'd heard The Singer was filmed in Shanghai, but I'm probably confusing it with something else. The same goes for how Makoy got to the show. I know next to nothing about how flights are routed in Asia and just assumed there was a direct flight from Manila. Most of what I know about this comes from an interview a couple of reactors did with Makoy a few years ago. Makoy explained how he happened to make his appearance on The Singer instead of KZ using the show's house band.
